Presentation by Leader of IBM's Networking Hardware Division will Open
Networks Expo in Dallas, September 12-14, 1995 at Dallas Convention
Center

(Fort Lee, NJ, July 11) - William "BJ" Johnson, general manager of IBM's
Networking Hardware Division, will deliver the first-day keynote address
at Networks Expo'95 in Dallas. September 12-14, 1995 at the Dallas
Convention Center. Mr. Johnson's topic is, "The Incredible Shrinking
World: Bringing People and Information Together with Technology," and his
speech will take place Tuesday, September 12, at 9 a.m.

Mr. Johnson will explore the challenges presented by the current
communications revolution and the opportunities available for people to
connect with information in all its forms. He will discuss using the
emerging high-speed and mobile networking infrastructures to enhance
business and personal results by building on today's capabilities.

Mr. Johnson joined IBM Corporation in 1993 with more than 20 years'
experience in the telecommunications industry and is a leader in setting
and implementing IBM's networking strategy. Prior to joining IBM, he was
vice president of corporate marketing for the Digital Equipment
Corporation, where he was responsible for Digital's networks and
communications business and telecommunications industry marketing.

Mr. Johnson is on the advisory board of the Leonard Center, Pennsylvania
State University, and the Babson College Information Technology Advisory
Board. He received his bachelors degree in electrical engineering from
Pennsylvania State University, where he is also a Fellow. He also holds
masters' degrees in electrical engineering and business administration
from Northeastern University.

As a member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers
(IEEE), he organized the Worcester County Computer Society. Mr. Johnson
also received the NASA Achievement of Merit Award for the Apollo project.

Mr. Johnson's address is the first of two keynote presentations at Networks
Expo Dallas where industry leaders will present new solutions for business
professionals to gain an edge in computer networking. Networks Expo Dallas
will also feature several value-added events that will combine technology
with education on topics ranging from messaging to wireless/mobile
communications. The show will feature an Internet Theater, sponsored by
IBM Corp., located in the center of the show floor with 35 terminals
allowing participants to cruise the information superhighway. In addition,
Network Expo Dallas will showcase the NPA Hands-on Labs sponsored by the
Network Professional Association, where leading network vendors allow
attendees to test the latest networking and interoperability
technologies.

The Network Expo Dallas show floor will feature more than 250 exhibitors
including: American Power Conversion, AT&T, Attachmate, Cabletron, Cisco,
Dell, Dialogic, Futurus, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, NetFrame, NetManage,
Network General, Novell, Texas Instruments, Thomas-Conrad, and Tricord.
The Second Annual WINDOWS WORLD/Dallas, produced by SOFTBANK COMDEX Inc.,
will run concurrently with Network Expo Dallas at the Dallas Convention
Center. At WINDOWS WORLD, attendees will be able to evaluate Windows 95,
Microsoft's MSN Online service, as well as Windows NT interoperability
solutions.
