New Windows Program Gives Projects a Swift Kick in Their Strategy

Berkeley, CA, June 26, 1995 - Experience In Software, Inc., has announced a
July 17, 1995 release date for Project KickStart for Windows --a speedy
project organizer that boosts productivity by helping to quickly generate
effective strategies for projects.

Project KickStart not only stimulates project brainstorming, but provides
"built-in" expertise through smart questioning, a context-sensitive
project advisor, expandable libraries of project-related knowledge and
sample projects.

Building on the success of its DOS predecessor, Project KickStart for
Windows (introductory SRP $99.95) uses an intuitive graphical interface to
help strategize, brainstorm & organize projects into easily definable
phases, tasks, sub-tasks & details. Although Project KickStart is a
stand-alone project organizer, a built-in icon allows direct linking to
Microsoft Project for Windows. Exported data can also be used in leading
project managers in Windows, and in Microsoft Project for the Macintosh.

"It's a nifty project 'organizer' that allows engineers, consultants,
entrepreneurs and managers to effectively structure projects, identify
obstacles, allocate resources, and plan tasks in a simple intuitive
manner," states Experience In Software president, Roy Nierenberg. "Project
KickStart is the missing link between a project's inception and its
management via traditional project management software,"

Nierenberg (who's previous brainchild, The Idea Generator Plus, launched
the creativity software category and became a cult favorite among managers
in every field), has observed that the re-engineering movement has
propagated a greater demand for "Computer Aided Thinking" (CAT software)
to help increase worker productivity.

"The business environment has changed tremendously over the past few
years," notes Nierenberg, "People are taking on new types of projects and
they don't necessarily have the know-how they need to plan them through.
Software like Project KickStart not only gives them the chance to organize
their project, its built-in expertise can help ensure their business
success."

One of Project KickStart's most significant features is that it allows
users to create expandable libraries of phases, goals, people and
obstacles. The libraries function as a permanent pool of collective
knowledge from which valuable information may be drawn for future
projects. The libraries not only retain that knowledge, they also speed
data entry on subsequent projects and encourage group or individual memory
of project elements. Project KickStart also permits users to draw from
similar projects previously created in Project KickStart, Project
KickStart for DOS, or from Microsoft Project or other project managers.

The program allows users to assign up to 1000 tasks and 100 resources per
project and has a flexible outlining function which allows project
elements to be revised and reorganized quickly. Multi-page notes, used for
retaining issues, reminders and instructions (or for providing official
documentation) can be assigned to each task. A context-sensitive "Advisor"
provides project management tips at each step of the process.

Project summaries can be printed in a variety of presentation-ready reports
or transported seamlessly via a "link and launch" command to Microsoft
Project. Data may also be exported via an ASCII text file into Symantec's
Time Line, Computer Associates CA-SuperProject, Scitor's Project Scheduler
or Primavera's SureTrac Project Planner for traditional project scheduling
and tracking management.

Project KickStart comes loaded with sample projects to aid learning and for
jumpstarting projects.

Ten year old Experience In Software specializes in a category of software
known as Computer-Assisted Thinking (CA T). This type of software
synthesizes the management techniques of experts from various fields into
simple interactive questions that guide users to create solutions that
meet their specific needs. Its other products include: The Idea Generator
Plus, a creativity/problem-solving program, and The Art of Negotiating, an
interactive negotiating tool.
