CE Software Announces Educate America Program

Joint Effort Delivers CE Software's QuickMail and Global Village's
GlobalCenter Internet Services To Schools Nationwide

West Des Moines, Iowa, July 24, 1995- CE Software today announced Educate
America, a program designed to deliver electronic mail and Internet
connectivity to every student, teacher and faculty member throughout North
America. With Educate America, educational institutions will be able to
purchase CE Software's QuickMail and Global Village Communication, Inc.'s
GlobalCenter Internet solution at prices significantly below current
educational pricing. Educational QuickMail multi-paks previously priced
over $35 per user are now available through Educate America for just $10
per faculty user and $3 per student user. To reach the Internet, customers
will pay just $300 for Global Village's complete GlobalCenter Internet
E-mail and Web-browsing solution.

Schools To Access Today's Fastest Growing High-Tech Communication Tools

"Every day E-mail and the Internet increasingly become the de facto
standard for global communication and the transfer of information," said
Ford Goodman, president and CEO of CE Software, Inc. "CE Software and
Global Village are delivering a simple, affordable means for schools to
take advantage of this innovative technology today."

According to Goodman this program reflects CE Software's desire to place
leading edge communication technology in the hands of tomorrow's leaders,
at a price that fits every educational institution's budget. "Educate
America isn't about software and hardware, it's about students and faculty
having access to the world of information available electronically," said
Goodman.

CE Software's QuickMail is already well known in the educational community
for its easy-to-navigate user interface, extensive connectivity options,
low-maintenance, and all-inclusive product packaging. In fact, today
everything required to set-up a complete QuickMail system is sold at one
price and included in one box. Global Village's GlobalCenter Internet
solution, designed specifically for use with QuickMail, follows the same
strategy delivering everything needed to integrate E-mail, Internet
Web-browsing, and modem connections via a cost-effective, easy-to-use and
install solution.

Customized For Student And Faculty Use Through the Educate America program,
educational institutions may purchase QuickMail in either faculty or
student paks. Faculty paks come complete with the standard QuickMail
E-mail solution including:

 * Server and administrator software
 * Client software for Macintosh, Windows, and DOS
 * QM-Forms, a program that provides users with customized
   QuickMail forms
 * QM-Remote, for remote E-mail access from home for example
 * QuickConference, an application that allows users to "chat"
   back-and-forth on-line
 * A MailManager, which automates the handling of incoming mail
 * Built-in spell checking and searching capabilities

Student paks include all the client software and utilities required to add
student mailboxes to existing QuickMail networks.

The Educate America program will be introduced with the release of
QuickMail 3.5, (due in August) which will include features such as the
popular "drag and drop" functionality trumpeted by Apple, stylized text to
allow students and instructors to modify typefaces within messages, and a
gateway to America OnLine, the largest on-line service on the market
today.

Teaming With An Industry Leader

In order to deliver a well integrated E-mail/Internet solution, CE Software
has joined forces with Global Village, a leading provider of Internet
access solutions. Inside each Educate America package customers will
receive an offer to subscribe to the GlobalCenter Internet service and
receive the GlobalCenter start-up package. The start-up package includes
all the hardware and software components, and installation procedures
necessary to get connected to the Internet in less than one hour.

With the addition of GlobalCenter Internet to the network, users will be
able to communicate via the Internet with other school districts and
organizations, subscribe to on-line news groups, search public archives at
major universities and government departments, and download files and
software updates. Plus students and faculty will be able to view the
Internet World Wide Web home pages maintained by businesses, museums, news
organizations, and other institutions throughout the world. "Combining the
seamless plug-and-play capabilities of the GlobalCenter Internet solution
with QuickMail's robust feature set enables users to fully capitalize on
the Internet's vast array of information," said Rex Cardinale, vice
president and general manager of Global Village's Internet Services
Division.

Program Also Assists Customers with Technology Decisions

As leaders in the Macintosh communication industry, CE Software and Global
Village have agreed to publish a variety of cooperative information pieces
regarding Macintosh communication and technology solutions. The first will
be a booklet entitled "The Educational User's Guide To The Internet And
E-mail", which will explain the components required for E-mail and
Internet connectivity, and how to make the most intelligent decisions
regarding communication hardware and software investments. The two
companies are also working on other ways to integrate communication
technology to facilitate student-faculty interaction, and increase
productivity throughout every educational system.

"It is imperative that as innovators in the industry, we make this
technology as accessible and useful as possible," explained CE Software's
Goodman. "With Educate America every school equipped with computers can
have access to the vast amount of resources on the Information Highway."
