Tool Can Be Downloaded for Free until August 20, 1995

Vienna, VA, July 25, 1995 -- Stepping up its aggressive push into the
Internet software market, NaviSoft Inc., an America Online company, today
announced a free trial period for NaviServer 1.0 and NaviPress 1.0 - its
award-winning, integrated Internet software publishing tools that make it
easy to create and manage content on the World Wide Web (WWW). NaviServer
1.0 is available to users for a free 60-day evaluation period, while
NaviPress 1.0 will be available for free download until August 20, 1995.
NaviServer 1.0 and NaviPress 1.0 can be downloaded free of charge from
NaviSoft's Web site at http://www.navisoft.com.

For customers who want to conduct an in-depth evaluation of client/server
Web publishing tools and need access to printed product documentation and
full technical support, NaviSoft is offering a CD-ROM Trial Pack
containing NaviServer and NaviPress for $99. While many companies extend
free trial periods for their products, this program is innovative because
it provides customers with software, as well as the benefits of
documentation and technical support during the trial period. The
NaviServer software will be functional for 60 days after installation from
the CD-ROM; the NaviPress software is a licensed copy that will not
expire. In addition, the cost of the Trial Pack will be applied towards
the purchase price, should a customer elect to purchase during the trial
period.

NaviServer and NaviPress offer features not found in any other Internet
tools available today, such as the NaviPress WYSIWYG integrated
authoring/browsing capability and NaviServer's integrated object
relational database. Used separately, NaviPress and NaviServer represent
the best of breed in their respective categories. Combined, they provide
the first all-in-one, client/server solution for easily creating,
publishing and managing content on the Web.

Today's announcement comes less than one month after NaviSoft unveiled
relationships with four of the industry's leading companies, Digital
Equipment Corporation, Hewlett-Packard Company, Intel Corporation, and
Silicon Graphics, Inc.

"NaviServer and NaviPress are the industry's premier Web publishing tools.
We want to celebrate this important 1.0 development milestone and
encourage wide trial usage by offering the products free of charge and
making them widely available," said Lydia Dobyns, General Manager and Vice
President for NaviSoft. "we are convinced that once people try these
products, they will recognize the significant value they bring to the
process of creating and maintaining a Web presence. We are building
significant momentum in the industry's most exciting market."

NaviServer Features

NaviServer, available in UNIX and Windows NT, is the only Web server
available today that includes a plug-in object-oriented database
extension, making it the best solution for data-intensive applications
such as forms management, user lists and data management. This is a key
technology required to support multimedia applications. In tests conducted
by NaviSoft, the product far outperformed competing products, including
Netscape's Communications Server. This performance advantage was magnified
in applications requiring database accesses.

NaviServer also features remote authoring capabilities, enabling users to
save Web content directly to a server on the Internet and freeing them
from the cumbersome task of posting information via ftp. As an extensible,
high-performance platform for application development on the WWW,
NaviServer allows Web application developers to build interfaces to other
systems, as well as customize and add features such as logging, security,
and reporting.

NaviPress Features

NaviPress is a WYSIWYG, integrated authoring and browsing tool that allows
users to create and edit innovative Web applications without HTML tags or
URLs. Available in Windows, Macintosh and Motif platforms, NaviPress
allows users to browse, author, create links and access remote servers.

Users can compose in one Window, browse the Web in another, and use "copy
URL" and "paste URL" to create links from their home page to other places
on the Web. NaviPress saves users time and money by allowing them to
create Web pages through a browser-front end that lets them see exactly
what the page will look like when it is posted on the Web.

Every copy of NaviPress automatically publishes to a NaviServer maintained
by NaviSoft, enabling users to test and review the content they develop.

Availability

NaviPress 1.0 and NaviServer 1.0 can be downloaded for free from NaviSoft's
Web site, http://www.navisoft.com. If users choose to purchase the
NaviServer/NaviPress CD-ROM during their 60-day trial period, the $99 cost
of the CD-ROM can be applied toward the cost of the server. NaviServer 1.0
is priced at $1,495 and $4,995 for Windows NT and UNIX, respectively.
Customers who purchase NaviServer 1.0 will receive a free upgrade to
NaviServer 1.1 o which will include security and support for HTML 3.0 and
