XCAD strikes again - Major new developments

* XCAM
* Architects TOOLBOX
* XCAD Japanese launch
* Photorealistic rendering form LightWorks

May 21, 1995 -- Xitron Software Corporation continues its impressive pace
with exciting new announcements and product releases at the A/E/C SYSTEMS'
95 show in Atlanta from June 6-8, booths #1567 and #139. XCAD, in only one
year has firmly established itself as a major player in the CAD world,
challenging the leaders and maintaining the position as the Best/Price
performance CAD software available. Having received outstanding accolades
from leading CAD experts around the world, XCAD once again proves its
outstanding capabilities by providing a solid environment for two
significant third party developments XCAM and Architects TOOLBOX.

XCAM, the newest NC programming system from Progressive Software Inc. uses
XCAD 3.0 as its CAD engine. XCAM will be launched at the A/E/C SYSTEMS '95
booth #139. XCAM is a full 3D CAM system. Just as XCAD is an open
architecture CAD engine, XCAM is also a CAM engine. Complete access to all
XCAM functions will allow any user to customize and create their own
features. "XCAM is truly a parametric CAM system that will revolutionize
the CAM market," said Sandra Clark, CEO of Xitron.

XCAM is comprised of four specially designed modules to accommodate the
most sophisticated machining applications. XCAM uses an easy to learn
interface that prompts users through the creation of an NC program.
Animation of the machining operation allows the user to visualize the
process. After confirmation, all parameters are saved and the tool paths
disappear. This parametric approach, normally found only in high end CAM
systems, allows the NC program to be updated when the geometry changes.
All machine functions are user definable with the XCAM Post Processor
Generator. XCAM features:

* XMill - Supports up to 3 Axis of simultaneous motion
* XTurn  - 2 Axis
* XWire  - 2 Axis EDM module
* XPunch - Punch module

With each module priced at $795, XCAM will challenge the market by
providing unbeatable CAM software value.

ARCHITECTS TOOLBOX for XCAD

Xitron Software Corporation also announces the introduction of the
Architects TOOLBOX for XCAD 3.0, from New Dimensions. Now drawing,
designing and modeling is even easier for architects and CAD users. Some
of the features included in the Architects TOOLBOX are:

* Custom menus/functions tailored to the Architect's daily needs.
* Generous set of fully parametric architectural symbols are included
  in the product
* Unparalleled integration with XCAD 3.0. Full use of all XCAD
  Import/Export capabilities.
* Additional symbol library available.

Priced at just $99.95 this cost effective tool speeds productivity, and
greatly enhances the architects' CAD environment.

XCAD in Japan !!!

Clark announced the launch of XCAD in Japan in partnership with ORIX-Rentec
Corporation (ORC) from the ORIX Group. The "innovative financial pioneer",
was chosen by Xitron Corporation for its recognized success, quality of
service and experienced staff.

The ORIX Group is Japan's leading financial services company. With
operations in international markets, ORIX provides value-added services in
22 other countries. In USA ORIX is a major investment fund for leasing and
financial companies in the US market.

ORC is Japan's leading technical products leasing company. Established in
1976, ORC was the first company in Japan to be certified by the ISO 9002
in December 1992. ORC has an outstanding network of offices and a
qualified group of sub-dealer channels throughout Japan. XCAD is their
first software venture in Japan. Assisted by FAMOTIK Ltd., the accredited
Japanese CAD Company, whose proven experience has ensured high quality
Japanese translation of XCAD. XCAD now meets all the requirements of
Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS).

Already, demand for XCAD has exceeded expectations and ORIX sees XCAD
establishing itself as a major player in the Japanese market in the
immediate future.

XCAD's LightWorks - The solution for your rendering requirements

The addition of photorealistic rendering, from LightWorks to XCAD will
provide users functionality never before available in this price range. No
other CAD package will be able to come close.

LightWorks is the standard by which all other CAD rendering software is
judged. Using LightWorks capabilities, XCAD will allow users to create
images using both life-like material simulation and environmental
surroundings.

Photorealistic rendering has long been the province of expensive
workstations running expensive software. "Increased PC power plus a
decrease in hardware prices has created a panic among many CAD software
developers," said Clark. "They haven't figured out how to deliver value in
this new, low cost environment. That's where XCAD comes in. Our rationale
all along has been that high quality CAD software shouldn't cost more than
the hardware it runs on. And this applies to rendering as well."

Under the agreement, Xitron will add the LightWorks functionality to XCAD
version 4.0 while maintaining XCAD's ground-breaking $495 (US) price.

XCAD runs in both Windows and Windows NT, and with its powerful features
such as NURBS; this sophisticated CAD software encourages not just draft
and draw, but also provides advanced object design using the versatile
free-form NURBS surfaces (non-uniform rational B-Spline). Complex drawings
become simple and easy to use.

Additionally, the XCAD Development System (XDS) provides a software
development tool kit that allows users to create their own XDS and Visual
C++ applications, and extend the power of the XCAD engine.

Additional XCAD features include:

* DXF/DXG/IGES File Compatibility.
* Full 32-bit Architecture, for increased speed on a variety of
  platforms.
* Powerful 3D Surface Drawing and Editing Facilities for simplified
  object design.
* Continuous shading with multiple light sources, providing users with
  "real-life" views.
* Up to eight simultaneous viewports, for easier visualization.
* True Windows interface, including a Floating Toolbox, to reduce
  learning time.
* Macro Facility, giving users the ability to automate frequently used
  operations.
* Support up to 4,000 layers, simplifying the development of complex
  designs.
* Customizable Toolbar, allowing users to tailor XCAD to their needs.
* 2D/3D Symbols Libraries that provide ready-made symbols for faster
  design.
* Command Emulator accepting AutoCAD, Generic CADD, and MicroStation
  commands.
