MACPLAY DEBUTS POWER PETE

AN INTERACTIVE CARTOON ADVENTURE IN A TOY STORE GONE MAD

May 11, 1995 -- Irvine, California -- By day they're cute and lovable toys
-- jolly clowns, cuddly monkeys, and sweet gingerbread men. But when the
lights go out, the toy store turns into the little shop of horrors where
killer clowns, ferocious stuffed dinosaurs, and crazed robots are out to
destroy the innocent fuzzy bunnies. You've just entered the world of Power
Pete, the latest edition to MacPlay's collection of high-quality
entertainment software for the Macintosh consumer. MacPlay, the Macintosh
division of Interplay Productions, will preview Power Pete at the
Electronic Entertainment Expo in booth #1413.

Power Pete is an interactive cartoon action/adventure game featuring fun,
crisp, and colorful graphics for Mac gamers ages six and up. The player
experiences the game as "Power Pete," the most powerful action toy figure
money can buy. Armed with a unique arsenal of weapons -- toothpaste guns,
foam-rubber launchers and birthday cake blasters -- the player will battle
against the evil toys in a mission to rescue all of the fuzzy bunnies and
escape from the store.

"We are very excited to be able to offer Mac users with such a unique and
fun game," explains Bill Dugan, Macintosh 'high priest' of MacPlay. "The
sharp, crisp graphics, fast scrolling and overhead view angle place Power
Pete in a class all its own on the Mac."

Developed by Pangea Software, Power Pete was programmed on the Macintosh
specifically for Mac gamers. The development team took every advantage of
the Macintosh platform's technological advances when developing the title.
As a result, Power Pete is the fastest-scrolling Mac game on the market.

The Power Pete adventure takes place in five animated worlds including the
Prehistoric Plaza, Candy Cane Lane, Fairy Tale Trail, Magic Funhouse and
the Bargain Bin. Each world includes three levels of game play for a total
of 15 levels in the entire game. Players view the game from an overhead
perspective for full-angle, action-packed play. Fuzzy Bunny radar leads
players to the rescue. Digitized speech quips and a captivating soundtrack
enhance the game play.

Throughout the game, the player can choose from an arsenal of 16 different
weapons. Each weapon has a different effect -- the toothpaste squeezer
works against the Gelatinous Bears but is ineffective when used against
the Lemon Drops. The player must discover several tricks in order to
complete the mission.

The game runs on any 256-color Macintosh with 4900K free memory and a
CD-ROM drive. A 68040 processor or PowerPC chip is recommended for optimal
play. Additionally, players will experience greater control with a
joystick or gamepad. Power Pete is accelerated for the Power Macintosh.
