COMPAQ LAUNCHES INNOVATE FORUM 95 -- CUSTOMERS AND INDUSTRY TRENDSETTERS TO
EXPLORE HOW COMPAQ IS REDEFINING CORPORATE COMPUTING

HOUSTON, May 19, 1995 -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today
announced it will host a worldwide technology forum for customers and
resellers to explore the strategic and technological requirements needed
to be successful in today's competitive environment. Innovate Forum 95
will also host well known industry luminaries who will provide attendees
with insights into the future of the computer industry.

At Innovate Forum 95, to be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center
in Houston October 16 - 19, select customers and industry leaders will
meet in small workshops, panel discussions and tutorial breakout sessions
to exchange useful innovations and practical solutions to conquer current
computing challenges. Global representation is expected from a variety of
industries including government, education and commercial markets. Scores
of Compaq partners and allies will also participate, demonstrating how
core business solutions can be deployed on Compaq platforms.

"Innovate Forum 95 is an ideal forum for customers to explore how Compaq --
the "Computer Company" -- delivers the right tools for businesses to
deploy their business critical applications," said Eckhard Pfeiffer,
president and CEO, Compaq Computer Corporation. "By coordinating and
integrating a variety of products and services from Compaq in conjunction
with our partners, we can act as the 'general contractor' of corporate
computing, and deliver solutions-focused platforms."

Keynote addresses given by Eckhard Pfeiffer; Bill Gates, president and CEO,
Microsoft; and Robert Frankenberg, president and CEO of Novell -- three of
the industry's most influential leaders -- will provide attendees with
clear visions of the future and a glimpse of how technology will help
companies move into the 21st century.

"As a leader in the computer industry, Compaq has always been driven by the
broader perspective of what its customers and partners have to say about
technology -- what works today and what is needed in the future," said
Gates. "Innovate 95 is a very good vehicle to learn how other companies
have applied technology to solve business problems and to influence the
direction of the computer industry."

Over 50 management strategy and technology sessions will explore issues
such as the economics of client/server computing, the Internet,
technology's role in business process reengineering, and digital
convergence. Technology and business experts will

moderate these interactive and solutions-oriented discussions, and
facilitate an open exchange of information among the participants,
resulting in useful suggestions to real-world problems. In addition, there
will be a "solutions center" in the exhibit hall where Compaq and dozens
of its industry partners will showcase joint solutions.

Attendance to Innovate Forum 95 will be by invitation only to select
customers and resellers, who can contact their Compaq representative or
call an 800 number later this summer for additional information and
registration materials.
