FILEMAKER PRO TURNS 10 YEARS OLD THIS MONTH

#1 DATABASE IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION TO PROVIDE RELATIONAL CAPABILITIES
THIS YEAR

SANTA CLARA, California -- May 22, 1995 -- FileMaker Pro, the easy-to-use
award-winning database software, from Claris Corporation marks its 10th
year on the software market this month. In May, 1985, FileMaker 1.0 was
introduced to the computing world.

What else was happening a decade ago? The cost of a first class stamp was
10 cents less; compact disks and CD players first came on the market; Live
Aid helped raise $70 million for starving Africans; and Coca Cola
announced -and later reversed- its decision to retire the 99-year old
formula for Coca-Cola.

Since then, there have been 12 revisions of FileMaker Pro, highlighted by
the introduction of FileMaker Pro 2.0 for Macintosh and Windows in 1992 ,
a major re-write of the program and the first completely cross-platform
non-programmable database software. Claris also added FileMaker Pro Server
and the FileMaker Pro Solutions Development Kit to the FileMaker Pro
database family line in 1994.

Claris continues to enhance the successful FileMaker Pro formula,
accommodating both the needs of both flat-file and relational database
users, in its next major revision scheduled for shipment before the end of
the year. The new version will run on Windows '95 equipped personal
computers and Macintosh operating systems and will give users a choice to
retain their data files in flat file format or link files in a full
relational mode all in one simple click.

Available in over 30 languages, FileMaker Pro is used by over one million
registered Macintosh and Windows users. Recently, it was ranked as the #1
database software that provides the greatest satisfaction in a worldwide
independent survey of 6000 personal computer users conducted by Dasar,
Inc.
