ARTISOFT EXTENDS TOP RANKING IN PEER-TO-PEER NETWORKING

Maker of LANtastic System Claims 39.4% of 1994 Worldwide Market Share

(TUCSON, AZ--April 26,1995)--Artisoft, Inc. announced today that it has
extended its worldwide leadership position in peer-to-peer network
operating systems, outpacing Microsoft Corporation and Novell, Inc. for
calendar year 1994. Based on an analysis by International Data Corporation
(IDC), Artisoft had 39.4% of the peer-to-peer market share. There were
more than 1.7 million peer-to-peer nodes shipped worldwide in 1994,
according to IDC.

"Artisoft's continued ranking as the number one provider reflects the
worldwide acceptance of the LANtastic network operating system as a
powerful yet easy to use and affordable solution," said Artisoft President
and CEO William C. Keiper. "The LANtastic network is the cornerstone of
Artisoft's scalable family of products, which provides users with a range
of features from peer networking to complete client-server functions," he
added.

In calendar year 1994, Artisoft's target market of small and growing
businesses purchased more than 1 million copies, including upgrades, of
the award-winning LANtastic system. "We believe we will continue to
accelerate this momentum with the recently announced LANtastic Power
Suite, which is expected to ship mid-year, and the new LANtastic Dedicated
Server," Keiper added.

The LANtastic Power Suite is an integrated product that contains an
advanced LANtastic network operating system combined with leading
communications software. It consists of six products: the LANtastic
network, Lotus cc:Mail communications software, Lotus Organizer networked
group scheduler and personal information manager (PIM), Cheyenne
Communications BitWare fax and modem communications software, Cheyenne
Communications BitShare modem-sharing and pooling software, and NETCOM
NetCruiser Internet access software.

Artisoft recently started shipping its new LANtastic Dedicated Server,
high-performance, client-server software for LANtastic networks v5.0 and
above as well as the LANtastic Power Suite. It combines the LANtastic
system's hallmark ease of use with the 32-bit engine of Novell's NetWare 4
technology. The LANtastic Dedicated Server, along with Artisoft's Simply
LANtastic network and the LANtastic for OS/2 network, further expands
Artisoft's family of connectivity options.
