Conference Highlights New Technologies, Tools and Developer Programs

SAN JOSE, California--May 8, 1995--Recharged by the success of the Power
Macintosh computer and an array of new software technologies, as many as
3,500 attendees, from more than 20 countries have descended on San Jose
for Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference. During the week-long
conference, which began today, Apple will present developers with its
technology directions for Macintosh hardware, the Mac OS operating system,
multimedia, graphics, communications and collaboration, and software
development. Apple will also provide developers new development software
and highlight enhancements to its developer program.

Apple's Power Macintosh systems and an overview of Copland, the next
generation of the Mac OS, with developers learning what they need to do to
prepare for Copland. Apple is also providing developers with software and

software which they can use to create modular software applications that
can be mixed and matched to create integrated, custom solutions.

Conference sessions also include information on development for the Newton
platform. In addition, sessions cover new development tools and
environments, and how to develop software that uses Apple's multimedia,
graphics, imaging, human interface, and communications capabilities.
Developers for many different markets, such as publishing, education,
business, entertainment, and consumer, will be able to attend sessions
targeted for them.
