San Jose -- February 13, 1995 -- S-MOS Systems, a corporate affiliate of
Seiko Epson Corporation, is offering a new product family of semicustom
function blocks and libraries targeting PCI-based designs called
Semicustom Systems Interface Products (SSIP). This new product line will
employ the company's already introduced SLA20000 family of semicustom
products, its new SLA30000 library (0.6 micron), and several embedded
semicustom products specifically designed for PCI and mobile computing
systems.

The SSIP also includes a growing list of function blocks. The first to be
offered include PCMCIA, ISA, embedded Ethernet, PCI bridges and buffers
capable of supporting five-and three-volt designs (50 MHz and 33 MHz
respectively, using the SLA20K, and 66 MHz and 50 MHz using the SLA30K),
and a PCMCIA controller (100 percent Intel-compatible called the SAM365).

Other function blocks available soon include SCSI 2.0 and fax/modem blocks
that conform to prevailing industry standards.

NRE charges for libraries and function blocks, engineering and CAD support
and prototypes begin at $20,000 and are dependent on design requirements.
