Visionware Acquisition Extends SCO's Leadership for Windows Friendly
Client/Server Solutions

Critical Servers, today demonstrated its next generation Windows Friendly
technology for seamless integration of Windows clients and UNIX servers.
SCO showcased several new technologies resulting from its recent
acquisition of Visionware, the leader in PC- based software for Windows
client to UNIX server integration, and previewed "Envision," code name for
SCO's unified client/server architecture spanning the Windows desktop and
UNIX server.

SCO's Windows Friendly strategy combines the strengths and user benefits of
Windows PCs and UNIX servers in integrated solutions. SCO's 1994
acquisition of Visionware advanced the strategy by broadening SCO's
presence to the PC and preparing the way for a Windows Friendly
client/server architecture.

Database Connectivity (ODBC)

o Transparent access of Windows personal productivity applications and
business-critical UNIX server applications Windows from client desktops

o Centralized management of Windows desktops, applications and data through
a UNIX server supporting activities including software distribution,
upgrades, critical file management, etc.
