AUTOMATRIX LAUNCHES "MUSI-CAL"--THE FIRST AUTOMATED, INTERNET, WORLD-WIDE
MUSIC EVENTS CALENDAR

SCOTIA, NY -- (1/31/1995;1300) -- Today Automatrix, Inc., an Internet
presence provider and consulting group, announced the debut of Musi-Cal,
its free, Internet-accessible, music events calendar. Musi-Cal lists the
dates and locations of upcoming concerts, festivals, and other musical
events around the world, and allows promoters, record labels, venues, and
even fans to submit tour and other event itineraries.

Musi-Cal uniquely emphasizes data quality over a glossy appearance and is
never out of date. "The majority of calendars on the Internet either have
very few entries, cover a single theme or performer, or are badly out of
date," states Skip Montanaro, manager of Software Development for
Automatrix, Inc., and a former computer scientist with GE Corporate
Research and Development.

With Musi-Cal, Automatrix, Inc. offers a consumer service using Internet
World-Wide Web technology, developed by research physicists for exchanging
highly technical information. Musi-Cal may also be the only consumer
information server on the web to support all functions via email. "Unlike
most Web services, this makes the concert calendar available to everybody
on the Internet," states Montanaro.

Another unique feature of Musi-Cal is that the system automatically
eliminates out-of-date or duplicate entries. This latter feature enables
distributed, simultaneous data entry.

Best of all, Musi-Cal is easy to access and use. Internet users with Web
browsers such as Mosaic or Netscape can access Musi-Cal at
"http://calendar.com/concerts/". Such users submit requests via a simple
"fill-in-the-blanks" search form. An easy-to-use email interface is at
"concerts@calendar.com". Searches by geographic location, date, and
performer are currently supported. The user can also request performances
within a specified radius of a selected city.

Adding events to Musi-Cal is easy too. A point-and-click input form is
available on the Web. The email interface is more efficient, however, for
submitting large numbers of events.

Automatrix began offering Web space and Internet publishing to
organizations wishing to do business on the Internet in June 1994 and sees
Musi-Cal as a way to improve its customers visibility.

The calendars have one shortcoming, however. "There's no way we can predict
cancellations," laments Montanaro. ;-) Users are advised to verify
scheduled activities with the venues hosting the events.
