MILLER FREEMAN, INC. ANNOUNCES KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
CONFERENCE EAST

Nick Tredennick Promises Irreverent Insight Into The Past, Present And
Future Of Microprocessor Design

San Franciso -- February 21, 1995 -- Miller Freeman, Inc. today announced
that Nick Tredennick, author of Microprocessor Logic Design, (Digital
Press, 1987), will deliver the keynote address at Embedded Systems
Conference East at the Inforum in Atlanta, April 18-20. Tredennick will
address the future of microprocessor design, and review current "fads." He
will also discuss why embedded design, the largest microprocessor market
in the world, is often overlooked by the press.

Dr. Tredennick, now chief scientist at Altera Corporation, was responsible
for logic design and microcode for the Motorola MC68000 and the IBM
Micro/370 microprocessors. He is a prolific writer and a frequent
contributor to Microprocessor Report. During a career studded with an
unusual variety of occupations, Tredennick has developed a unique point of
view.

"Nick Tredennick's approach to the microprocessor industry is refreshing
and irreverent," said Ted Bahr, publisher of Embedded Systems Programming
and vice president of the Electronics Division at Miller Freeman, Inc.
"His insight into the economics that drive the trends combined with his
entertaining style, make him the kind of speaker that we want to hear from
again and again."

According to Tredennick, "Microprocessors can be broken down into four
types: zero cost, zero delay, zero power and zero volume. I'll explain
what that means at the conference."

The keynote presentation, on Tuesday, April 18, complements a three-day
program of tutorials and lectures that reflect the growing complexity
facing engineers working in the embedded marketplace. Exhibitors will
feature products and services for embedded systems developers and
engineers throughout the three day conference.

Embedded Systems Conference East is the only East Coast educational forum
100% dedicated to embedded systems products and services. Now in its third
year, Embedded Systems Conference East is the East Coast counterpart to
the original Embedded Systems Conference, a seven year old show which
takes place every fall in Silicon Valley. Both shows are presented by
Miller Freeman, Inc., the publisher of Embedded Systems Programming and
the third largest trade show producer in North America. A wholly-owned
subsidiary of United Newspapers plc of London, England, the company
provides dozens of electronics and software conferences and trade shows,
including: Software Development Conference, Autodesk University,
MechanCAD, PCB Design Conference, Surface Mount International, and the
OS/2 World Conference and Exhibition.
