NeXT Computer Inc. and Insignia Solutions Sign Collaboration Agreement

Joint effort to further improve SoftPC for NEXTSTEP/Intel Platforms

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA --Feb. 21, 1995--Insignia Solutions, the world leader in
PC-compatibility solutions, and NeXT Computer, Inc. have entered into a
collaboration agreement designed to improve SoftPC for NEXTSTEP/Intel.

The two companies have put resources into joint projects that will address
the needs of NEXTSTEP/Intel customers. The agreement, which goes into
effect immediately, strengthens the relationship between the two
companies.

"SoftPC 4.0 running on NEXTSTEP for Intel delivers the highest performance
solution for running Windows applications short of running the DOS/Windows
operating system itself," said Steven P. Jobs, NeXT Computer's chairman
and CEO. "Our customers get the benefits of running almost all Windows
applications at high speed in the advanced NEXTSTEP environment."

"NEXTSTEP is gaining acceptance as an industrial-strength object-oriented
operating system, particularly amongst corporate users," said Robert P.
Lee, Insignia Solutions' president and CEO. "This collaboration agreement
between NeXT and Insignia Solutions will enhance the timely delivery of
integrated Windows and DOS compatibility for NEXTSTEP/Intel users."

SoftPC 4.0

SoftPC 4.0, released in late 1994, lets customers run thousands of
Microsoft Windows and MS-DOS applications on the NEXTSTEP operating
system. In addition to supporting thousands of standard mode Windows
applications, SoftPC 4.0 supports popular enhance mode applications such
as WordPerfect 6.0, PageMaker 5.0, FrameMaker 4.0 and Harvard Graphics
2.0. It includes preinstalled copies of Microsoft Windows, MS-DOS and the
Novell NetWare client software, and supports both Windows and DOS TCP/IP
networking.

NEXTSTEP 3.3 and SoftPC 4.0

A fully functional trial version of SoftPC 4.0 is included on the third
party CD-ROM that NeXT includes with every copy of NEXTSTEP. This allows
customers to try SoftPC for 30 days, free of charge. To purchase the
product, customers call Insignia Solutions for a license that provides
unlimited access to the product. SoftPC 4.0 for NEXTSTEP/Intel is list
priced at $299.
