ILOG today announced ILOG DB LINK, a portable C++ library for connecting
C++ applications to leading relational database managers such as Oracle,
Sybase, Informix, Ingres, and SQLBase.

Through SQL, C++ developers interface easily with all services provided by
relational database managers, such as transactional processing, dictionary
access, and data manipulation - while experiencing none of the
architectural limitations of the traditional 4GL approach.

ILOG DB LINK allows to access DBs without having to learn the specific API
for a particular DBMS. As requests are written directly in SQL, ILOG DB
LINK imposes no additional structures to represent the database tables,
and supports all database operations through only four classes.

ILOG DB LINK supports multiple databases instances as well as multiple
database management systems simultaneously. Applications are instantly
portable across operating systems, compilers and RDBMSs.

ILOG DB LINK integrates easily with ILOG VIEWS to display database schemes
in ILOG VIEWS graphs, and RDBMS data in ILOG VIEWS tables.

ILOG DB LINK is available on a wide range of UNIX platforms and on PCs
running Microsoft Windows for $2,500. Preferred university rates and free
demonstration CD-ROM available upon request.
