ATTACHMATE PROVIDES 'NO COMPROMISES' INTEGRATED SOLUTION FOR REMOTE USERS

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- January 23, 1995 -- Attachmate Corporation today
announced the enhanced Remote LAN Node (RLN) Application Server v2.3, with
optional support for TCP/IP networks. Attachmate's RLN Application Server
leads the industry in integrated remote node/remote control computing.

RLN Application Server v2.3 not only extends the concept of integrated
remote LAN access via RLN to generic TCP/IP networks, it also provides
TCP/IP support for the Application Server as an optional feature to the
base system configuration that currently supports IPX/SPX.

This software simplifies the network administrators job by eliminating the
requirement for multiple protocol configurations for a user's PC. With
this software loaded, Novell LAN users can access TCP/IP applications from
the Windows/DOS environment and DOS/Windows environment. TCP/IP users can
access Novell servers without loading IPX/SPX software on their PCs.

"This product enables enterprise network administrators to improve
substantially the performance of applications on the LAN while allowing
them to move at their own pace integrating their LANs into the more open
TCP/IP environment," said Ian Pennell, director of marketing for
Attachmate's remote access products. "With RLN Application Server,
administrators can provide remote users full access to Windows, OS/2 and
DOS applications on the LAN now and still have the flexibility to add
remote access over TCP/IP networks later with the add-in module."

The newest version of the software adds support for Intel Corporation's
Pentium processors protected mode environment, which delivers unsurpassed
performance and reliability.

Furthermore, the new software supports NetWare Shell (VSHELL) for users of
Novell's NetWare NETX, virtualized connections which make RLN Application
Server more compliant with corporate system configurations. With VSHELL,
the multi-user version of NETX, all connected nodes -- either remote or
local -- can access the NetWare server simultaneously.

"RLN Application Server version 2.3 is a major upgrade that provides many
enhancements for usability, security and broader hardware and software
support," said Pennell.

The RLN Application Server and the TCP/IP module work most efficiently with
Attachmate's flagship Remote LAN Node product, which has been enhanced
recently in version 3.1. Working in tandem, RLN and RLN Application Server
provide RLN OS/2 clients complete access to both IPX/SPX and TCP/IP
LAN-intensive DOS applications.

"Most of our customers require diversity and flexibility in meeting their
remote computing needs now and in the future," said Pennell. "We're trying
to ensure that they dont have to compromise by force-fitting their
solution into one technology. Our combined solution allows the LAN
administrator to leverage all the benefits of both remote node and remote
control for maximum productivity."

The Application Server is available for a suggested retail price of $2,950.
The optional TCP/IP support for the Application Server is also available
through standard distribution at a suggested retail price of $595. Pricing
outside North America depends on the local market.

Citrix Systems, Inc., of Coral Gables, Fla. licensed the award-winning core
technology behind the RLN Application Server to Digital Communications
Associates, Inc. (DCA) which merged with Attachmate Corporation on
December 31, 1994.
