O'REILLY & ASSOCIATES, INC. TO RELEASE WebSite

First Commercially Supported World Wide Web Server for Windows NT

January 30, 1995 -- SEBASTOPOL, CA -- O'Reilly & Associates, Inc. announced
today that it is releasing WebSite, a 32-bit World Wide Web server for
Windows NT 3.5, in May 1995. WebSite combines the power and flexibility of
a Unix server with the ease of use of a Windows application, thus allowing
Windows NT users to publish and transact business on the Internet's World
Wide Web. WebSite also works on Windows 95(R), so Window's 95 Beta testers
can add it to their systems.

"WebSite's intuitive graphical interface is a natural for NT users," said
Gina Blaber, O'Reilly's WebSite product manager. "WebSite allows programs
such as Excel or Visual Basic to run from within a Web document. It also
lets users control who has access to each part of the Web server."

WebSite is a product of O'Reilly & Associates, in cooperation with Bob
Denny of Pasadena, CA and Enterprise Integration Technologies of Menlo
Park, CA. It is based on a 16-bit server for Windows 3.1 created by Denny,
which has been available on the Internet since early 1994 and has been
tested on over 5,000 sites. WebSite will be available through software
stores, bookstores in North America, other resellers, and direct from
O'Reilly. Its price will be announced before its release.

                         WebSite FEATURES

WebSite will include:

* 32-bit HTTP server that lets users maintain a set of Web documents,
control access, index of desktop directories, and use of CGI (Common
Gateway Interface) program to run Excel, Visual Basic, and other programs
from within a Web document.

* WebView, which provides a tree-like display of the documents and links
on the server, icons for file type, access state, and broken links, a
graphical editor for enhancing images in Web documents, wizards that
automatically create common Web documents, a search button, an indexing
tool that allows users to search for terms on your server, and multiple
windows to view several Web sites simultaneously.

* Enhanced Mosaic 2.0 with progressive display of documents, a toolbar,
security frameworks and Secure HTTP, support for sound and external
viewers, display of in-line JPEG and other graphical files, and support
for DDE/OLE.

* Access authentication, which allows password set-up and user-name
verification for users on different parts of the server. This is the same
level of authentication currently used on most ftp servers, thus allowing
WebSite to remain small and easy to use.

* Complete documentation: a 350-page book that clearly describes how to
use these resources, including tutorial sections, task descriptions, and
chapters on using CGI to run external applications; and online Help that
describes all the product features. O'Reilly will offer full technical
support for WebSite.

                       SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

WebSite users should have a 386 system or higher; VGA video display
adapter; 3.5" disk drive; 5 MB RAM (10 MB recommended); 20 MB disk space;
NT 3.5 with TCP/IP connectivity.
