GROUPQUEST SOFTWARE RELEASES NEW VERSIONS OF ESSENTIAL TOOLS FOR LOTUS
NOTES

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION UTILITY NOW SUPPORTS NETWARE NLM AND WINDOWS NT

ORLANDO, Fla., JANUARY 23, 1995 -- GroupQuest Software today announced the
release of Essential Tools) for NetWare NLM and Microsoft Windows NT.
Already available for OS/2, this popular collection of tools for Lotus
Notes system administrators now allows Notes systems maintenance in
extended heterogeneous environments. Lotus Notes is the worldwide
market-leading platform for developing and deploying groupware
applications.

Essential Tools, ET), combines several server based programs that compile
information contained in Notes Database Access Control Lists (ACLs) and
the Notes Name and Address Book. Using this information, a Notes
administrator can easily manipulate multiple groups, control multiple
ACLs, and terminate users from the Notes environment in the same
transaction. Essential Tools greatly benefits Notes administrators by
streamlining the process of properly controlling management functions,
including server security, database security and user privileges.

"With the tremendous success of Essential Tools, came the inevitable
requests from the marketplace for ET to support additional platforms",
said Lisa Petrucci, president of GroupQuest. "We've responded quickly to
meet the needs of the Notes community."

"With the latest version of ET, we are covering 99% of the Notes installed
base", said Jon Michaels, utilities product manager at GroupQuest. "Since
all of the versions are compatible, an organization with a heterogeneous
installed base of Notes server platforms will benefit from the same
cross-platform functionality they've come to expect from Lotus Notes",
said Michaels.

ET Features From any Notes workstation, Essential Tools will save an
administrator time and increase their accuracy by allowing them to:

* Add/Remove Groups, People, and/or Servers to/from Groups found within the
Notes Name and Address Book. Multiple groups can be manipulated in a
single transaction.

* Add/Update/Remove Access Control Levels for Notes Databases and/or
Templates. Multiple Databases on multiple Servers can be manipulated in a
single transaction.

* Queue ACL and people changes to run during off-hours.

Essential Tools automatically compiles all of the critical information
system administrators need about their databases, and has ready-made audit
trails and increased accountability that can be viewed for their entire
worldwide Notes network:

 * Servers, directory paths and file names
 * ACL access by ACL Entry
 * ACL access by Access Control Levels
