Network Television Star Jonathan Taylor Thomas Lends Voice Talent to
Scooter's Magic Castle From ABC/EA Home Software

Award-Winning children's CD-ROM Program Adds Hollywood Star Power To Create
a Truly Magical Multimedia Experience.

San Mateo, Calif.--January 24, 1995--How do you improve a software product
that won the prestigious Parent's Choice Award and the National Parenting
Seal of Approval? ABC/EA Home Software, formerly EA*Kids, added real star
power to the popular Scooter's Magic Castle. The result is pure multimedia
magic.

In the new CD-ROM version of Scooter's Magic Castle, Jonathan Taylor
Thomas, a star of the megahit television series Home Improvement (and the
voice of young Simba in the blockbuster movie The Lion King), gives
Scooter his enthusiastic voice.

Entertainment and Educational Software Worlds Converge In Scooter's Magic
Castle

"With the acceptance of interactive software as entertainment, we now have
access to top creative talent in the entertainment industry," says Michael
Pole, executive producer for ABC/EA Home Software. "We're now able to
create interactive programs that look and feel like traditional animated
programs and we're thrilled that Jonathan Taylor Thomas wants to be a part
of this creative explosion."

Says Taylor Thomas, "I'm a big computer user. That's why I'm so excited
about being the voice of Scooter. Through Scooter, I help kids learn how
to count, recognize musical patterns and do all kinds of problem solving.
I think the program is really fun, and it helps kids learn."

In Scooter's Magic Castle, children ages 4-7 explore their very own magic
castle with the help of lively pal Scooter and his wise sidekick, Theo the
Owl. Children can grow magic gardens, create monsters in a fantastical
laboratory, visit a wizard's secret chamber and create wacky songs on a
musical staircase.

There are more than 25 activities that enhance learning skills while
providing a steady dose of fun. The activities, which were designed with
the help of educators and child psychologists, develop skills such as
vocabulary, memory, pattern recognition, color discrimination and
creativity. The program features an intuitive interface, colorful
graphics, fluid animation and an original musical score.

Celebrity talent Adds Excitement to Educational Software

In addition to Taylor Thomas, Jess Harnell (characters in Anamaniacs,
Batman, and Tiny Toons), Maurice LaMarch (voice to characters in Slimer
and the Real Ghostbusters, The Critic and Captain Planet) and Roger
Bumpuss (voice actor in Alf, The Simpsons, and Garfield) portray several
characters in the program. The script was written by Bruce and Reed
Shelly, two of the animation industry's top writers. Their credits include
Dennis the Menace, Captain Planet and Madeline.

Available in stores now for a street price of $34.95, the multimedia
version of Scooter's Magic Castle runs on IBM-compatible CD-ROM
computers.
