OPTIKA'S FOCUS ON PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, NEW BUSINESS AND THE CHANNEL MAKES
FOR A SUCCESSFUL 1994

Colorado Springs, January 25, 1995 -- Optika Imaging Systems, today
announced that 1994 proved to be another banner year for the developer of
document image, workflow and information management solutions. Growth
through acquisition combined with intense product development, major
account wins and continued commitment to the channel were recognized as
the key factors contributing to the company's successful year.

"By focusing our resources on strategic business areas we experienced one
of our strongest years ever, reaffirming our status as a preeminent
provider of image and workflow solutions," said Ellen Rome, Optika's vice
president of marketing.

Steven M. Johnson, Optika's president, explains that the company intends to
maintain its leadership stance in 1995. "Nineteen-ninety-four exceeded our
expectations and paves the way for future expansion in 1995," he said. "We
expect to expand our market presence even further during this next year
through the addition of prominent installation sites and key new business
partners. We also intend to continue our focus on providing the industry's
leading client/server workflow and document management solutions."

Acquisition Leads to Product Expansion

Optika's acquisition of TEAMWorks Technologies (Marlboro, Mass.) in January
of 1994 lead to the introduction of an entry-level document management
solution. The new software system, Frequent Filer version 3.0, combined
high-transaction optical server technologies with a robust set of imaging
features. The product introduction allowed Optika to expand its product
offerings to the entry-level segment of the document management market.
For the first time, entry-level imaging users had access to high-end
imaging technology, allowing them to extend the life and volume parameters
of their desktop applications.

"Until the release of Frequent Filer 3.0, we had not had a product
specifically developed to meet the needs of the growing entry-level
market," explained Rome. "The acquisition of TEAMWorks and the
introduction of Frequent Filer allowed Optika to address a new, yet
thriving, market segment."

Product Development Efforts Focus On Fourth Generation Document Management
Software and Workflow

In addition to launching an entry-level solution, Optika continued to
provide enhanced imaging systems that address the high-volume/transaction
segment of the market. Optika shipped FPmulti version 4.0 and added a new
high-performance software module to its acclaimed PowerFlow workflow
management system. FPmulti version 4.0 added a number of major
enhancements designed to make integration of disparate information types
easier while PowerFlow's new Event Server increased the overall throughput
of workflow applications.

"We are dedicated to providing products that manage a company's complete
information infrastructure. We are continually enhancing and refining our
information management solutions to meet and solve evolving business
objectives." said Rome.

Products Developed to Meet Strategic Markets

Optika formed a new business unit in 1994 dedicated to better meet the
needs of the healthcare market. The MediPower Group has been chartered to
broaden Optika's FilePower family of image, workflow and information
management solutions, adding capabilities specifically designed for
medical records and patient accounting. The goal of the MediPower group is
to provide healthcare organizations with a targeted, yet comprehensive,
document management and workflow system; one that allows healthcare
organizations the ability to streamline operations and improve
productivity.

Optika was also awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule
contract in 1994. The GSA Schedule will enable Optika to make further
inroads into the multi-billion dollar government marketplace.

Major Account Wins Further Illustrates Company's Ability to Solve Business
Problems

Optika competed for and won a number of prominent installation sites,
illustrating that the company provides document management and workflow
solutions that meet today's -- and tomorrow's -- business objectives. The
addition of 1994's customer wins brings the number of Optika installation
sites to over 800. Optika wins include Prudential Insurance, Best Buy,
Tennessee Valley Association, NFL Players Association, U.S. Sprint, Beth
Israel Hospital, First Trust Corporation, Mazda, Bell South, Bell
Atlantic, FHP/Takecare and Carlson Marketing. Optika also installed

Channel Commitment as Strong as Ever

Optika introduced a Business Partner Certification Program in 1994 and
added a number of strategic Business Partners. Optika currently supports
one of the most extensive reseller/systems integrator networks in the
document management industry. The addition of USI, BSG Consulting, I-Net,
Random Access and The Future Now as new Optika Business Partners adds
high-level systems integration expertise to Optika's already qualified
network of resellers The introduction of a certification program will
further add to Optika Business Partners knowledge base by empowering
resellers so they are better able to service the customer and successfully
sell and support Optika software.

implemented imaging technology to meet strategic business and
organizational objectives. The company was awarded the Silver Award for
