Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book Comes to CD-ROM in EA*Kids Award-Winning
Interactive Storybook Series

San Mateo, Calif.--January 24, 1995--Ahhooooooooooooo! There's howlin'
great news for parents and kids: Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, can
now be experienced on CD-ROM software. It's the latest fun learning
adventure for kids 5-8 in software leader EA*KIDS award-winning Creative
Reader series of Interactive Storybooks which includes the 1993 Parent's
Choice Award winner, Peter Pan, and the highly-acclaimed Around the World
in 80 Days.

Based on Rudyard Kipling's masterpiece, EA*KIDS' fast-paced, animated, The
Jungle Book follows the adventures of Mowgli, the little boy who is raised
by wolves. Kids join Mowgli in his adventures throughout the mysterious
Indian jungle, stalked by the dangerous man-eating tiger Shere Khan, and
helped by his pals Baloo the bear and Bagherra the panther--and your
child.

As original jungle music plays in the background, your child can read from
the much-adored classic, or listen to a narrator read the fast-paced
adventure. The option of reading aloud by themselves or being read to,
makes the story accessible to all levels of readers.

"The Jungle Book incorporates two new design elements not found in our
other Creative Reader programs," said Joshua Marks, The Jungle Book
producer. "These are access to the original Kipling work, and the
flexibility to have any word in the text pronounced. These improvements
build on the whole language method of reading instruction." For example,
by highlighting any word in the story, the word or phrase will be spoken
aloud, plus excerpts of Rudyard Kipling's original language is available
to the child.

Giving children control over elements of story development is a distinctive
characteristic of the Creative Reader Series. Children have the choice of
creating different story outcomes with help from the animated, talking
Paintbox Pals, Jazz Painter, Nick Lead the Pencil, Sassy Sally Sprayer and
Winston Whoosh the Eraser--to discover alternative ways to help Mowgli
dodge the perils of the jungle. It's a great way to foster decision-making
skills.

These user-directed adventures involve more than 30 jungle scenes and
hundreds of interactive choices for eager children as they develop skills
in reading, vocabulary, decision-making and creative storytelling.

The CD-ROM follows the Kipling classic in helping Mowgli learn the Laws of
the Jungle, many with 1990's relevance, such as, Don't be a litterbug,
Don't waste, and Wash everyday.

The Jungle Book will be out in PC and Macintosh CD-ROM software in Spring
1995 and will be available in local retail stores or by calling
1-800-245-4525. The street price is $34.95.
