INTECOLOR INTRODUCES COLOR COMPUTER MONITORS DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR
MARINE APPLICATIONS

Unique features make the monitors perfect for shipboard

DULUTH, GA -- January 23, 1995 -- Intecolor Corporation today announced its
20" variable scan color monitors designed and manufactured specifically
for use in maritime applications. The new monitors are certified by the
American Bureau of Shipping, Det Norske Veritas (Norway), Bureau Veritas
(France), Lloyd's Register (U.K.) and Germanischer Lloyd (Germany). The
monitors are currently being used by major worldwide suppliers of marine
systems including the U.S. Navy and others to display data from bridge
navigational systems, engine room control systems and loading systems.

"We've taken the latest in display technology and the ultimate in graphics
resolution and added the ruggedness and reliability required for demanding
marine applications," stated David M. Deans, president of Intecolor. "The
result is a state-of-the-art monitor that can perform in all shipboard
application areas and an outstanding price/performance value."

The monitors scan from 30 to 80kHz and support resolutions from 640 x 480
to 1600 x 1280 with a .28mm dot pitch CRT. Features like high bandwidth
differential video inputs, dynamic focus and a high contrast INVAR shadow
mask CRT provide the sharpest, brightest images possible. The Intecolor
monitor is currently the only 20" display available with integrated
touchscreens certified by the major marine agencies.

Unique features make the monitors reliable in marine environments. Each
unit is designed to last for years in three shift operations. Intecolor
monitors are rated at 37,000 hours mean time before failure even at
temperatures as high as 55 degrees C. Mechanical chassis bracing, a
reinforced basepan and rigid circuit boards stand up to heavy vibration.
Conformal coating on major electronics enable the units to perform even in
98% humidity. In addition, Intecolor has developed mumetal shields
(mumetal is a specialized nickel-iron alloy) to combat serious display
distortion caused by the shifting orientation of the Earth's magnetic
field when a ship changes course.

The monitors are compatible with most PC/AT graphics cards or high-end
graphics systems such as HP, Sun, DEC, and Silicon Graphics. Console-mount
and benchtop models are currently available. Pricing starts at $2900.
Users can choose from many options. Special custom modifications of the
monitor panel are possible to fit unique spaces or consoles.

Intecolor, an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, has been a leader in
industrial display technology for over 20 years. Its complete line of
monitors, workstations, and custom products is available worldwide in a
wide range of enclosures and resolutions.
