ILOG today announced ILOG RULES, a high-performance C++ component for data
monitoring in real-time environments. Because ILOG RULES infers directly
on existing C++ objects, without any code duplication, it is easy to embed
ILOG RULES modules into C++ applications.

ILOG RULES inference engine is a high-performance C++ library which infers
on objects at a rate of up to 10,000 rules per second on a HP 9700
workstation. It features a very small memory footprint of only 90 Kbytes.

With the ILOG RULES toolset, developers generate standard C++ code from the
rule base, and simply merge this code with the other modules of the
application.

ILOG RULES addresses time-critical decision-making systems such as signal
processing, network monitoring, process control, traffic monitoring, and
trading systems.

ILOG RULES key features:

- Inferencing on native application objects without changing or
  duplicating the existing code
- C++ code generation from the rule base
- Support of C++ inlines within the rules
- Customizable and embeddable rule engine
- Interactive debugging tools
- Integration with standard C++ compilers and development environments
- Execution library source code available for porting to on-board
  processors

ILOG RULES is available on a wide range of UNIX platforms (development
license: $10,000) and on PCs running Microsoft Windows 3.1 ($6,500).
Preferred university rates and free demonstration CD-ROM available upon
request.
