BOB DYLAN: HIGHWAY 61 INTERACTIVE IMMERSES USERS IN AN UNPRECEDENTED
EXPLORATION OF BOB DYLAN'S WORKS

Graphix Zone Debuts Interactive Music CD-ROM To Take Users On A Legendary
Musical Odyssey

LAS VEGAS, January 6, 1995--Lights explode onto the computer screen. Music
from Bob Dylan rises above a jumble of street sounds. Fragments comprised
of animations, morphs, video and graphics whirl across a field of black.
Suddenly, the individual fragments come together and form a collage.

Click on one of the collage fragments and you are instantly transported to
Greenwich Village, New York in the early 60s. You enter a coffee house
where the turbulent times are recreated in astonishing detail. A radio
announcer, TV clips and newspaper articles reveal the news of the day
while music of Bob Dylan--legendary musician/songwriter--plays in the
background. You'll hear beat poets, as well as Bob Dylan, recite their
poetry in '60s coffee house style.

You have just entered the world of Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive.
Introduced today by Graphix Zone and Columbia Records, a division of Sony
Music Entertainment, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in booth
#6978, Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive is an Interactive Music CD-ROM
(IMCD) that explores Bob Dylan's music and the impact it has had over the
last three generations.

"Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive transports you through a musical
odyssey, immersing you in the world and music of Bob Dylan. You are on a
journey exploring Bob Dylan's music, his influences and the social and
political impact that this legendary artist has made throughout the
years," said Chuck Cortright, president and CEO of Graphix Zone, Inc.

Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive includes 10 full-length songs and 4
full-length videos complemented by samples of 42 classic songs. The title
also features many unreleased celebrity interviews and stories. For
example, click on the photo of Al Kooper and he will tell the story of why
he played the organ, rather than the guitar, during the recording of Like
a Rolling Stone which ultimately launched his career as a famed organist.

A never-before-published version of House of the Rising Sun is featured in
the title. The song is a "redbook" audio track which can also be played in
a standard audio CD player. This rare studio recording is an electric
version of the same song that Bob Dylan covered as an acoustic title on
his first album long before he went electric. It pre-dates--by two
years--the popular version later made famous by Eric Burdon and the
Animals and further cements Bob Dylan's reputation as the innovator who
combined folk and rock music.

An interactive timeline is your virtual link to significant events in Bob
Dylan's career. Simply click on a point in time and you are instantly
transported to the Newport Folk Festival where Bob Dylan went electric for
the first time, or to Monterey in 1967 to see Jimi Hendrix perform one of
Bob Dylan's most noted songs.

You can delve into Bob Dylan's past through an interactive scrapbook.
Flipping though the pages of the scrapbook, you will uncover rare photos
of his parents as well as high-school photos of the artist and his
hometown. Rare recordings made by the young Bob Dylan before he left his
hometown to make his mark on the world can also be played in the
scrapbook.

Also included in Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive is a very powerful video
montage exploring the social topic that most influenced Bob Dylan's work.
This montage, themed War, incorporates music, video and images which
accentuate Masters of War, one of Bob Dylan's most moving songs.

Scattered throughout the CD-ROM are "hot" objects, which morph or animate
with the click of the mouse. Additionally, you will find original charcoal
sketches created by Bob Dylan, video clips, and performances of his songs,
including a rare recording of Blowin' in the Wind.

Three-Dimensional Environments Recreate Life and Times of Bob Dylan

In addition to an abundance of music and video clips, Bob Dylan: Highway 61
Interactive immerses you in a series of photo-realistic, three-dimensional
environments, each representing a pivotal time in Bob Dylan's life. You
can wander around in a Greenwich Village coffee house and interview Bob
Dylan and those associated with him early in his career. Or you can visit
the Columbia Recording Studio of the mid 1960s where you sit in on a
recording session. Experience the evolution of songs throughout the
recording process, including unreleased versions of Like a Rolling Stone.

Choose the 30th Anniversary Concert collage fragment and you are dropped on
center stage at Madison Square Garden, where you are face-to-face with a
huge audience. Sneak backstage and interact with the many musical
celebrities who have come to celebrate Bob Dylan's legendary contributions
to music.

Once you have explored each area on the CD-ROM, you will be treated to a
special bonus--an invitation to the Supper Club where you will enjoy two
full-length videos of his famous 1993 New York City Supper Club
performance. Although the shows were filmed, the footage has never been
released until now.

Unabridged Collection of Lyrics From All 41 Albums

The disc also features a one-of-a-kind, complete and unabridged Bob Dylan
Lyric Compendium. This easy-to-use multimedia database provides access to
the complete Lyrics from every Bob Dylan song, up to and including his
latest release Dignity. Point-and-click search techniques help you to
select any of Bob Dylan's 41 albums. From there, you can choose from a
listing of that album's songs and access the corresponding Lyrics. You
will also find the names of artists who covered his songs.

"Bob Dylan's Lyrics are the poetry of three generations. And this is the
most complete single source of the artist's Lyrics ever published and the
only one on CD-ROM," explained Cortright. "Because Bob Dylan's Lyrics are
so significant to so many people, we believe that many fans will purchase
the IMCD just to have access to this unabridged compendium of his life's
work."

Navigate With Ease

Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive intuitively puts you in control of a
series of changing interactive events. The navigation system is the next
best thing to virtual reality. The introductory collage at the beginning
of the IMCD allows access to any area of the disc at any time. In every
space you visit, there is yet another collage representation that, if
interacted with, immediately takes you back to the main collage.

"It is easy to navigate through Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive,"
explained Cortright. "There is no need to travel through the title on a
linear basis. Simply jump to those areas that are of the most interest to
you with a click of the mouse."

Graphix Zone Sought Out Bob Dylan for Second IMCD Project

Graphix Zone sought out Bob Dylan, believing that the artist's musical
contributions were a perfect match for the depth and content available on
an IMCD. The company had just completed its award-winning, top-selling
IMCD featuring the artist formerly known as Prince, when it approached
Columbia Records with the idea of capturing Bob Dylan's work on CD-ROM.

According to Fred Ehrlich, Sony Music Entertainment's Senior Vice
President, New Technologies/Business Development, Bob Dylan: Highway 61
Interactive will provide Bob Dylan fans, both young and old, with a real
insight and perspective into his music. "Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive
manages to capture the poignancy and mark of originality of Bob Dylan's
work. The breadth of Bob Dylan's work and Graphix Zone's technological and
creative talents combine to form a unique interactive product."

Availability

Available in early February, 1995, Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive has a
$59.95 suggested retail price. It will be sold through computer and music
stores as well as retail mass merchants. Bob Dylan: Highway 61 Interactive
is a hybrid title, operating on Windows, Macintosh and PowerMac platforms
from the same disc. Additionally, you may select a full length audio file
of a never-before-published recording of House of the Rising Sun which can
be played in a standard audio CD player.
