eWorld Strengthens International and Consumer News Offerings

CUPERTINO, California--January 27, 1995--Apple Computer, Inc. today
announced that three new worldwide news services--U.K. News Today, Global
Grandstand, and World News Watch--have joined eWorld, the on-line service
from Apple Computer. Additionally, Apple announced that United Press
International's consumer news service--UPI News You Can Use--has also
joined eWorld. Taken together, these new members of the service's growing
publisher base broaden the global scope of eWorld, bring localized
information to eWorld's international customers, and strengthen the
service's news offerings.

The three new international services all come from the Reuters World Wire,
which carries thousands of stories from every corner of the globe.
Specifically, UK News Today offers news and business stories and
discussion straight from the United Kingdom. UK News' discussion board,
aptly named Speakers' Corner, is already generating lively debate
about--among other topics--the fate of the Royal Family.

World News Watch provides news as it breaks around the world--from
up-to-the-minute reports from Japan's earthquake-ravaged cities to street
fighting in Chechnya, to the perils of the Mexican peso. The stories are
sorted by region to help eWorld users find the information they want.

Global Grandstand covers international sports such as soccer, cricket,
rugby, and more with up-to-the-minute scores, rankings, and news. For
example, eWorld subscribers from around the world can find out how their
country's team is faring in the latest cricket Test Match, who's leading
the World Cup skiing championships, or what's the latest in the America's
Cup sailing trials.

The company believes that the addition of local content and information
will make eWorld a more attractive online offering not only to its
international customers and publishers, but also to global travelers and
expatriate communities. eWorld currently is available to customers in the
United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New
Zealand. Any customer with an eWorld account can connect to the service
from virtually anywhere in the world--with over 7,500 access numbers
available.

These services join an already broad and expanding base of news offerings
on eWorld. Already included among those offerings are Reuters News, Dow
Jones Business and Financial News, eWorld Sports, USA Today Decisionlines,
customized daily business briefs, a wide range of computer industry
publications, and a provocative assortment of political publications and
columnists.

eWorld is a powerful, yet easy-to-use, global family of on-line services
from Apple Computer, Inc., which include eWorld for Macintosh and
NewtonMail--eWorld's messaging service for Newton personal digital
assistants. Included on most Apple Macintosh computers, the software is
also available free to all US Macintosh users by calling 1-800-775-4556. A
windows-based version of eWorld is expected to be available in 1995.

Apple Computer, Inc., an information industry innovator, creates powerful
solutions based on easy to use personal computers, serves, peripherals,
software, on-line services and personal digital assistants. Based in
Cupertino, CA., Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) develops, manufacturers, licenses and
markets products, technologies and services for the business, education,
