MSD ANNOUNCES NEW VERSION OF DISK DUPLICATION SOFTWARE PACKAGES FOR THE PC

New Version Increases Storage Capacity Per Disk and Adds Additional Qualify
Control and Ease-of-Use Features

Cupertino, CA--January 12, 1995--A faster and easier to use version of
Micro Systems Designs' (MSD) DiskDupe and DiskDupe Pro disk duplication
software is now being shipped, the company announced today. Version 5.0 of
the PC-based software packages simplifies the generation of custom disks
and boosts speed and quality for high volume disk duplication.

The new version adds support for 1.68Mb disk formats, a graphical user
interface for more user-friendly operation, and a variety of features
intended to save user time and enhance disk copy quality for both DiskDupe
and DiskDupe Pro. Software developers who wish to save time and money by
copying more information onto each disk as well as organizations who
produce a high volume of custom disks will benefit from version 5.0.

DiskDupe is designed for standard, high speed PC disk duplication. DiskDupe
Pro is a more robust version of DiskDupe, adding higher speed duplication,
support for custom disk production and labeling, and direct support for
additional floppy drives, floppy controller cards and high speed drives.

Version 5.0 enhances both DiskDupe and DiskDupe Pro, adding support for a
new, higher capacity disk format. This enables users to copy
Microsoft-formatted 1.68Mb disks and store up to 17 percent more
information per disk. Version 5.0's new graphical interface increases the
information available on screen, displaying more descriptive information
about each image file (a copy of the master disk that DiskDupe stores on
the hard disk), and making it possible to duplicate a disk in the
background under Windows while operating other computer functions. New
disk drive and alignment checking utilities track the number of disks each
drive has copied and automatically warn users when a drive needs cleaning
or alignment -- providing another check point against duplication of
faulty disks.

Version 5.0 adds a variety of time-saving features to DiskDupe Pro.
Accelerating the production of custom disks, DiskDupe Pro provides a
RAM-disk option that enables track by track duplications -- changing or
updating disks at lightning speed. Disk analysis features automatically
read each master disk and set up copy parameters, eliminating this
time-consuming step from each duplication run. With additional drive
support included in 5.0, up to 36 drives can be "cascaded" (used
sequentially) for maximum efficiency. In addition, users gain more control
over duplication operations. Powerful format control options permit users
to customize formats, increase storage capacity, accelerate read speed and
copy non-IBM formats such as OS-9, NEC and System 36, if desired.

"DiskDupe turns a PC into a professional duplication system," said Max
Dunn, president of MSD. "Version 5.0 underlines our commitment to
innovation with convenient, time-saving features and quality checks and to
standards adherence with support for new standards such as Microsoft's new
1.68Mb format."

DiskDupe requires an IBM PC or compatible computer using DOS 3.1 or later.
DiskDupe and DiskDupe Pro 5.0 have suggested retail prices of $79 and
$179, respectively.
