DELL RINGS IN THE NEW YEAR WITH LOWER PRICES ON LATITUDE NOTEBOOKS

Dell Latitude 450C Receives PC Magazine's Editor's Choice Award

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 9, 1995 -- Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL)
today made price/performance leadership one of its New Year's resolutions
by reducing prices on its Latitude notebook family by up to $300.
Customers can now purchase a 50-megahertz (MHz) IntelDX2 notebook with a
color display for less than $2,000.

The company also noted that one of the models included in today's price
move, the Dell Latitude 450C, was recently awarded an "Editor's Choice"
distinction by PC Magazine. In a January roundup of nearly 70 notebook
computers, the Latitude 450C was recognized within the Value Notebook
category for combining high performance with reasonable prices.

After today, those "reasonable" prices should be even more appealing to
mobile users. Effective immediately, price reductions were made on all
models within the Dell Latitude notebook family. The largest cuts occurred
on the 50MHz IntelDX2-based dual-scan color models which were reduced by
$300 or 13 percent. Below is a summary of today's price reductions which
affect the U.S. market only:

Targeted at value-conscious mobile users running mainstream applications,
the Dell Latitude notebook family features best-of-class ergonomics, fast
system performance and high-end local-bus video. The Latitude's modular
design includes upgradeable hard drives and support for a dual-battery
option which effectively doubles the system's battery life.

All models noted above are configured with four-megabytes (MB) of memory
and a 200MB hard disk drive. Additional models are available with 340MB
and 524MB hard drives. Each system also comes standard with MS-DOS 6.21;
