NEW NOTEPAD FEATURE AND ENHANCED INTEGRATION HIGHLIGHT RELEASE OF BUSINESS
TIES VERSION 2.0

ATLANTA, January 18, 1995 -- CLR Professional Software (formerly Prentice
Hall Professional Software) announced the shipment of version 2.0 of
Business Ties, the company's suite of integrated accounting products. The
complete system was released during the last week of December 1994.
Featured in this release were a new notepad feature and enhanced
integration between Business Ties and the company's write-up system,
Financial Reporting.

"The enhancements included in this first update to Business Ties are
significant not only because they improve the functionality of the
product, but also because they are a direct result of client input," said
Michael Bright, CPA, product manager for Business Ties.

The Notepad allows users to attach notes to specific customers, vendors,
and parts making it easier to track their activity. For example, this
feature can be used to track sales and leads, Accounts Receivable
collections, purchasing information, and General Ledger account
information. Data from the notepad can also be printed.

Enhanced Integration

Version 2.0 now includes an option to send transactions in summary or
detail from Business Ties General Ledger or the Financial Reporting Ties
module to Financial Reporting, the company's client write-up software. (FR
Ties is used to integrate data between Business Ties and Financial
Reporting when the end user does not purchase the General Ledger module.
It is available at no cost.) The export from GL or FR Ties module now
displays the vendor name in the description field and check numbers in the
reference field, allowing more information to be shown and printed.

Journal and Account Detail Reports can now be produced in summary or detail
using the FR Ties module. (The same Journal Report can be produced using
the GL module as well.) Accountants can further create a file containing
adjusting journal entries in FR, which can then be imported into the GL
module where adjustments can be posted.

Module-Specific Enhancements

Business Ties version 2.0 also includes a variety of enhancements to every
module. What follows are several examples for each module. General Ledger
now tracks company performance over any specific time period using
date-sensitive income statements and posts correcting/voiding entries to a
future month. Users can now produce an Invoice Distribution Report, as
well as automatically reverse the original General Ledger distributions,
using Accounts Payable.

Accounts Receivable now calculates actual "average days to pay" for each
customer and tracks taxable and non-taxable amounts for each invoice,
providing more accurate sales tax reporting. A new option to skip an
employee in a payroll run has been added to the Payroll module. Inventory
Control now allows three lines for description of parts and provides a new
part transfer option for tracking materials at multiple warehouses.

New enhancements to the Order Entry module include the ability to copy
quotes, sales orders, and invoices from one customer to another and to
produce a Gross Profit Report, sorted by sales representative and
including only closed invoices. Job Cost now issues a change order to
modify pricing and "retainage" information for a job and posts actual
payroll overhead amounts, such as company paid deductions and taxes, when
posting from payroll.

Availability, Support and System Requirements

The suggested retail price for Business Ties is $395 per module. (Special
bundle pricing is available in which users can purchase any three modules
for $895.) The purchase price of the Business Ties software includes 12
months of toll-free technical support and all updates to the system.
Business Ties also comes with a full 30-day money-back guarantee. A
preview copy is also available to accountants and their clients for
$19.95.

In addition, CLR Professional Software's Business Ties Elite Program
provides a streamlined method for accountants to pass through the Business
Ties software to their clients at a greatly reduced price.

Business Ties requires an IBM PC, XT, AT, PS/2 or compatible with 640K of
memory, one 5 1/4" or one 3 1/2" disk drive, a hard disk drive, MS-DOS
version 3.1 or higher, a monochrome or color monitor (with EGA, CGA or VGA
card), and an 80 column printer.

Business Ties includes the following modules: General Ledger, Accounts
Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Order Entry, Inventory Control, and
Job Cost. The integration between Business Ties and CLR Professional
Software's core product lines for tax preparation, trial balance
workpapers, and client write-up offers a unique opportunity for increased
efficiency in the transfer of data to accountants from their clients.
