CeBIT '95 TO FEATURE INNOVATIONS FROM SOME 450 AMERICAN COMPANIES

January 16, 1995 -- (PRINCETON, NJ) -- An estimated 680,000 visitors from
100 countries will come to CeBIT '95 (March 8 to 15; Hannover, Germany) to
see the latest in office, information and communications technology, say
show organizers. A record 6,000-plus exhibitors from around the world will
display and demonstrate their products within the industry's most
comprehensive showcase. And both groups will be there with an eye toward
doing business over CeBIT's eight days.

The U.S., with some 450 companies participating, will again have the
largest foreign contingency at this international show; about 300 American
firms will be located among eight USA Pavilions. The newest USA Pavilion,
in the CAD/CAN sector, is joined by USA Pavilions in Office Automation;
Software; Microcomputers & Peripherals; Multimedia; Personal Computing &
Communications/Mobile Data; Networking; and Communications. Among the
highlights:

* OFFICE AUTOMATION -- Located in the Hannover Fairgrounds' largest
exhibition building, this sector's USA Pavilion will feature 23
manufacturers exhibiting in the company of major international
manufacturers like Kodak, Panasonic, and Siemens Nixdorf. Participating
with its own group exhibit, The Association for Information and Management
will also be located in the USA Pavilion. In all, about 250 exhibitors
will show new developments in such categories as printing and copying
technology, imaging, data processing, and electronic data management
systems.

* SOFTWARE -- CeBIT's largest and fastest growing sector will be
represented by a record 2,400 software developers. For the first time,
four entire exhibit halls (2, 3, 4, 5) and part of Hall 6 will be devoted
to software. The USA Software Pavilion, with 35 American companies, will
be located in Hall 4.

Many firms will present new developments based on strategic alliances and
licensing agreements with leading international systems suppliers. On
display for the first time will be database software packages for clerical
and technical applications running on parallel computers with RISC
architecture. Also in the spotlight will be tools designed to help users
make the transition from host solutions to decentralized data processing.

* MICROCOMPUTERS & PERIPHERALS -- With over 100 companies, this USA
Pavilion is the largest. New products on display will include mini- and
microcomputers, peripherals, motherboards, and electronic banking
systems.

* MULTIMEDIA -- Reflecting the growth of the industry worldwide, CeBIT's
multimedia sector has expanded to two full exhibit halls (8 and 9) with
290 exhibitors. Last year, 187 multimedia companies participated. Over 45
American manufacturers will exhibit in Hall 8's USA Pavilion.

The emphasis in multimedia will be on complete solutions, including
high-performance computers, mass storage systems, high-resolution monitors
and printers, voice technology and software packages. Video conferencing
will be showcased in Hall 8 in CeBIT's first separate display of its kind.
Leading manufacturers of systems technology will demonstrate how, with the
aid of an applications card, a desktop PC can be linked to an ISDN network
for video conferencing.

* NETWORKING -- The 450 exhibitors in this sector, including 36 in Hall
11's USA Pavilion, will offer the world's most comprehensive view of
current networking trends. Many of the hardware and software presentations
in this fast-growing sector will focus on networking platforms and
components for integrating mainframes, departmental computers and PC
workstations into client-server architectures. Also on display will be
high-capacity networks designed to meet the demand for new multimedia
applications. The networking sector will include special presentations.
First, an expanded "ATM World," will underscore the importance of
international standardization in the simultaneous transmission of voice,
data and images. "News Net '95," is a dispersed fiber optics network that
allows exhibitors to demonstrate their systems in a mixed environment.
News Net will be hooked up on the Internet. The "Novell Networking Center"
will feature the solutions of more than 70 Novell suppliers. Experts will
be on hand to offer advice and information on NetWare, GroupWare and
business applications.

* PERSONAL COMPUTING & COMMUNICATIONS/MOBILE DATA -- Having experienced
major growth and advancement in the past few years, this industry sector
is growing at CeBIT as well. Located in Hall 11, companies participating
in the USA Pavilion for PC&C/Mobile Data will feature the latest hand-held
devices, as well as software and applications for these products. The
Personal Computer Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA) will also
be represented by a group exhibit.

* COMMUNICATIONS -- Itself the world's largest and most comprehensive
exhibition of the telecommunications industry, this sector of CeBIT will
house 700 exhibitors in Halls 13, 16, 17 and 23. The USA Pavilion, in Hall
17, will include 30 American companies. Reflecting the growing importance
of ISDN communication will be the latest digital switching equipment, plus
a wide variety of ISDN user devices, including ISDN-compatible computers
designed for integration into local area networks. Other key areas will
include multimedia communication in high-speed networks and personal
communication networks.

* CAD/CAM -- For the first time, American CAD/CAM manufacturers will have a
USA Pavilion (Hall 21) in which to showcase computer-aided applications
aimed at helping manufacturers improve their performance. Exhibits in this
sector, featuring some 700 international companies, will include new
software solutions for product and data models along with new solutions
and standards for data exchange, networking and systems integration.
