businesses," said Michael Spindler, Apple's CEO and president. "With new
licensees, growing developer support, and a strengthened product offering,
Apple continues to offer customers of the Wintel platform even more
reasons to move to the Macintosh platform. We plan on extending our
advantages through the year, as we make Macintosh relevant to an ever
expanding range of customers."

Here's a brief synopsis of the company's announcements:

- Apple has agreed to license Macintosh personal computer technology to
Power Computing Corporation and Radius Inc. This will allow these two
companies to create and market personal computers under their own brand
that run the Mac OS and Macintosh application software. Both companies
have announced they expect to bring to market Mac OS- compatible products
later this year.

- Three new desktop Power Macintosh systems--the Power Macintosh 6100/66,
7100/80 and the Power Macintosh 8100/100--are available today in many
countries around the world. The systems boast up to 40% greater
performance than the first generation Power Macintosh systems, and include
faster PowerPC microprocessors, larger hard disks, more memory built in,
and optional DOS and Windows compatibility.

- Widespread acceptance by customers of the latest version of the Mac
OS--System 7.5-- has resulted in better-than-expected sales and increasing
developer support. More than 300 applications are currently taking
advantage of the numerous new features in the operating system, with
dozens more slated to ship early in 1995. Vendors that have developed
software applications supporting the features in Macintosh System 7.5
include Aldus Corporation, Claris Corporation, Manhattan Graphics,
Microsoft Corporation, Peirce Software, Inc., Symantec Corporation,
WordPerfect Corporation and Xerox Corporation.

- In the wireless space, the company today brought to market a new product
that will simplify the complexities of wireless communications by
offering--in a single package--technologies to help the mobile
professional stay in touch while on the road. The Apple Mobile Message
System allows users of notebook computers and PDAs to receive short and
long wireless messages, calendar updates, news updates and a variety of
other information by way of a nationwide paging network.

- As part of its continuing effort to provide superior cross- platform
solutions, the company also announced plans to include--at no additional
cost to customers--Windows client software with its Workgroup Servers. The
AppleShare Client for Windows will allow Windows users to access AppleTalk
-based file and print services and will be included in all of Apple's
Workgroup Servers. In addition, the company also introduced the
AppleSearch Client for Windows which will be included in its most recent
version of its text search and retrieval system, AppleSearch v1.5. Both
products -- AppleShare and AppleSearch Client for Windows--are designed to
give Windows users an aggressively priced and easy way to connect to
AppleTalk-based LANS with the same look-and-feel of Windows network
application programs.

- Also on the Workgroup Server front, Apple announced price reductions
ranging from five to 11 percent on its Workgroup Servers 6150, 8150 and
9150. These reductions are part of the company's ongoing effort to offer
superior solutions at competitive prices, and will take effect
immediately.

- Apple cut the hourly charges for its new online service, eWorld, by
almost half--to just $2.95 an hour. The company also revealed that the
