MONDAY MORNING COACHES GET READY FOR LIVE ACTION FOOTBALL

Category: Football Coaching Simulation
Price and Availability: PC CD-ROM computers - $69.95

LAS VEGAS, NEV. - JANUARY 6, 1995 -- Sport Accolade, recognized as a
leading publisher of sports simulations, is showcasing Live Action
Football for PC CD-ROM computers, here at the Winter Consumer Electronics
Show. Officially licensed by the National Football League and the NFL
Players Association, Live Action Football simulates an All-Pro game
utilizing the names and statistics of 52 real players from the NFLPA and
teams of the American and National Football Conferences. The product takes
a giant leap forward in bringing real video to the personal computer by
being the first to incorporate originally created video footage into an
interactive football game. The game will also feature play-by-play and
color commentary from Al Michaels and Pat Haden. Live Action Football is
available at a suggested retail price of $69.95.

In Live Action Football, up to two players "coach" a team of NFL players
made up of recent All-Pro teams from the AFC and NFC. Coaches select plays
just like a real game and the results are then displayed in full-motion
color video, using original footage shot specifically for Live Action
Football. "Numerous attempts have been made to create football simulations
using existing stock NFL footage, but these products have been limited by
the content of the available film clips," said Todd Thorson, producer of
the game. "After filming more than 40 hours of actual football plays using
real professional football players, Live Action Football offers thousands
of play results. It is the first football product to recreate the look and
feel of a televised game." Sport Accolade contracted the Orlando Predators
of the Arena Football League to portray the NFL stars for the product.

As with the real game of football, where your opponents study your
strategies and plays, Live Action Football's extensive computer artificial
intelligence will learn your coaching tendencies and will adjust its game
play and strategies accordingly. An instant replay feature allows players
to review memorable plays using the VCR-like controls and save their
favorite plays to their highlight reel.

Live Action Football offers a familiar TV-style interface with colorful
graphics and information boards, including authentic player stats. The
game keeps track of individual player and team stats from each game. It
also provides players with five different computer opponents and a wide
variety of game lengths such as 60-minute full game, 2 minute drill, and
sudden-death overtime.

To further to re-create the experience of coaching a live television
football game, Live Action Football adds authenticity with Emmy award
winning sportscaster Al Michaels doing the play-by-play, and pro football
analyst, Pat Haden, adding color commentary. "Everyone from football
novices to gridiron experts will be able to play this game," concluded
Thorson. "CD-ROM owners will appreciate the extent to which we have gone
to capture the realism. We have incorporated original video footage, all
shot specifically for this game and created a truly interactive football
game. This is as close as most of us will ever get to coaching all time
greats like Emmitt Smith, Dan Marino and Sterling Sharpe."

Sport Accolade has also announced plans to create a franchised line of
computer sports products using the Live Action technology. Scheduled to
release in May, Live Action Baseball is being developed by Blank, Berlyn &
Co., in conjuction with Major League Baseball and the Arizona Fall League.
Live Action Baseball will carry licenses from the MLB and MLBPA, and Al
Michaels will call the play-by-play.
