LAS VEGAS, NEV. - JANUARY 6, 1995--Sport Accolade has announced the release
of Unnecessary Roughness '95 for PC and PC CD-ROM computers. Unnecessary
Roughness '95 features the names and statistics of the pros and superstars
of the NFLPA and the NFL teams and team logos. Unnecessary Roughness '95
is the only football simulation available to feature both HelmetCam, a
first-person perspective that puts players inside the helmet of the ball
carrier or defender as well as Infinity Cam, a new graphics technology
that enables players to view the game from any location with infinite
camera angles. The CD-ROM version contains a screen saver and features
detailed player biographies of every player in the game based upon the
NFL's player media guides. Legendary sportscaster Al Michaels reports the
play-by-play. Unnecessary Roughness '95 is available at a suggested retail
price of $59.95.

Unnecessary Roughness '95 is an action-packed football simulation featuring
dazzling, high-impact animations such as flying bodies, head butts, spins,
hurdles, leaps and straight arms. To provide the most realistic on-screen
football players ever shown, Unnecessary Roughness '95 presents 3D
animations using the motion capture of real athletes, then generated on
Silicon Graphic workstations. The product is also the only one available
with scaling player graphics and actual numbers on the jerseys.

"In developing this game we focused on what people want in a football
simulation," said Danny Pisano, the game's producer. "Hard-hitting
gameplay action, intelligent coaching and strategy options, and a stadium
full of stats. We have implemented a much tougher computer opponent,
trading, audibles, the new '94 NFL rule changes, a sizeable list of
penalties, multiple team owners per season (complete with passcodes) with
the cleanest interface on the market. These features, combined with the
real NFLPA players, real NFL teams, and real player movements make this a
football game every football fan has to own," concluded Pisano.

Unnecessary Roughness '95 is a one or two-player game. Gamers can compete
in exhibition games, play complete seasons against all 28 pro league
cities, or even customize their own league and take their favorite team
through the playoffs and the championship. The new league mode allows for
up tc 28 people to play in a league (one team per player). Season play is
based on real NFL seasons, individual and team statistics are tracked in
more than 30 categories, season standings and league leaders are saved and
updated every week of the season, with full printing capabilities. New to
Unnecessary Roughness '95 is Sport Accolade's "Player of the Game" where
the computer selects the most outstanding player in every game, and also
chooses an MVP at the end of the season. Free trading allows gamers to
make deals that could turn their team into championship contenders.

Unnecessary Roughness '95 offers an extensive playbook based on real NFL
offensive and defensive schemes. Computer coaches whose forte is play
design will enjoy the Play Construction Set with which they can create
their own plays and set multiple strategies for each one. The game can
also be customized in a number of different ways including setting the
difficulty level, indoors or outdoors play, grass or artificial turf,
variable weather conditions, even down to which penalties will be called.
Several options can also be turned on or off such as fumbles, fatigue,
injuries, penalties and computer substitutions.

Gamers can also create the ultimate team. Using the team design editor,
computer coaches can change the name, number and vital characteristics of
each player, as well as instantly set the colors for the home and visiting
uniforms of each team. Players can even customize their own team logos.
Gamers can also view close calls using the instant replay with freeze
frame, reverse angle, and reverse slow motion - all from any camera angle
they choose.
