                        Available January - $29.95

LAS VEGAS, NEV.-JANUARY 6, 1995 -- Accolade expects to delight both action
game enthusiasts and adventure game fans with the Star Control Collection
for PC CD-ROM computers. These award-winning games have remained popular
favorites from both the press and the consumer since their original
release in 1990 and 1992, respectfully. Star Control combines elements of
strategic challenge and energizing arcade action, and is cleverly designed
in such a way that players who want only the excitement of
starship-to-starship space battle can forego the scheming and precise,
step-by-step planning preferred by strategic players. Star Control II: The
Ur-Quan Masters is a hybrid action/roleplaying adventure set in the
spectacular science fiction universe established in the original,
award-winning Star Control. This sequel once again pits the player against
the iron-clawed fascism of the evil Ur-Quan Hierarchy. Graphically
gorgeous even years after their original release, the Star Control
Collection will be available in January at a suggest retail price of
$29.95.

Accolade has also announced plans to release Star Control III for multiple
CD platforms. Based on the Star Control environment created by Paul Reiche
III and Fred Ford, Star Control III will be developed by Legend
Entertainment, creators of Gateway, The Companions of Xanth and the
Spellcasting series. Like its predecessors, Star Control III will combine
both action and adventure. The game places the player; on the bridge" of a
space ship where they can talk face-to-face with organic 3D photo
realistic modeled aliens. Players will be able to explore a gigantic
universe, meet fascinating aliens, and have intense conversations. Star
Control III will also feature a blindly fast, leading edge space combat
game. Star Control III is scheduled to release in the Fall.

To fully enjoy the Star Control Collection, players should start with Star
Control. Set in the Earth's future, the alien races that make up the
Ur-Quan Hierarchy and those that comprise the Alliance of Free Stars are
at battle. The Ur-Quan is an ancient and powerful force whose charter is
to invade and enslave all other races in the galaxy. In self-defense, the
Alliance has banded together and will not lay down its weapons until the
Ur-Quan Hierarchy is vanquished.

Star Control is a one or two player game. Each opponent chooses to
represent either the Hierarchy or the Alliance and further selects from 14
ships displayed in enlarged, colorful detail and from the seven alien
races that make up each side. Every ship possesses different handling
characteristics, special powers and one secret weapon, all with their own
distinctive sound effects. In the Melee mode the Hierarchy and the
Alliance ships battle until all the ships on one side are destroyed. The
Full Game mode contains 9 different scenarios, each combining both
strategy and combat.

Star Control II lets you travel hyperspace to explore and liberate more
than 500 unique star systems, each with a full complement of planets and
moons. Usually, the game raises space adventure to a new plateau with its
ultra-brilliant 256-color graphics of hyperspace, 3-D rotating planets and
fractal-generated planet surfaces, as well as its detailed alien portraits
and stunning ship-to-ship combat imagery.

The game returns you to the 23rd century star clusters. Your mission is to
find out what happened to Earth and the Alliance of Free Stars, and, if
necessary, aid them against the Ur-Quan. Your character is stationed in a
vast cave network beneath the surface of Unzervald, a beautiful,
earth-like planet located on the periphery of what was once Alliance
space. Since the war with the Ur-Quan Hierarchy raged through nearby star
systems nearly 20 years ago, your research colony has had no contact with
Alliance freedom fighters. Despite the risk of capture, your team of
Alliance scientists continues to investigate an ancient underground
Precursor installation, hoping to discover technological relics that could
turn the course of the war against the Ur-Quan.
