Speakers needed for the Int'l Conf on Object Technology

The IBM Corporation is currently seeking speakers for the
Eighth IBM International Conference on Object Technology

                    June 11-12, 1995 (IBM-only)
                    June 13-16, 1995 (IBM & Customer)
                        San Francisco Hilton
                      San Francisco, California

The goal of this year's event is to provide educational sessions in a
variety of formats that will address the transition of the theory and
technology of object-oriented systems into practice. The 1995 conference
will be chaired by Susan Lilly, Senior Instructor, Object Technology
University, IBM Education and Training.

Members of both the IBM and customer communities are invited to submit
ABSTRACTS describing the topic(s) they wish to present. Sessions will be
one hour and fifteen minutes (1 hour lecture/15 minute questions). Session
length can be adjusted (longer or shorter) based upon the topic and the
format required.

Those selected to present at this event can submit complete papers which
will then be reproduced and made available (by the conference staff) to
conference attendees. Selected speakers will also receive complimentary
attendance to the conference. In order to accommodate attendee interest
and demand, some speakers may be asked to present their topic twice during
the conference.

Potential Topics for the Combined Portion of the Conference

The "combined audience" portion of the conference will seek to appeal to OT
technical professionals and managers of varying backgrounds and needs who
are responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, tuning or managing

conference will include approximately 60 elective sessions in areas such
as:

 - Management/Project Management
   -Managing OO Projects
-Experiences Solving Business Problems using Object Technology
   -Business Process Reengineering and OT
   -Selecting Candidates for OT Training
   -OT Training in General

 - Analysis/Design/Testing Methodologies

Practical Considerations of Reuse, Planning for Reuse, etc.
   - Class Libraries
   - OT Testing Techniques, OO Metrics, Maintaining OO Applications

 - Tool, Language, Product Usage(Building Applications/Tuning/Maintaining)

     (i.e., addressing the scalability issue)

              Additional Features of the Conference

In addition to the lecture/Q&A sessions, the IBM International Conference
on Object Technology will provide these additional learning formats:

 - Tutorials and Hands-On Workshops
   - Introductory sessions on various topics, some of which will be
     re-enforced by hands-on workshops.

 - Panel Discussions
   - Panels will be based on a general theme or relevant issue. Panel
discussions will be the same length as elective sessions: one hour
and fifteen minutes. Those interested in organizing the panel can
submit an abstract with questions to be covered and a list
     of potential participants.

 - Tools Expo/Product Demonstrations
   - Exhibitors during this portion of the event will feature IBM
products and other leading edge technology from other companies
as well. Interested parties (potential exhibitors) should submit
an abstract describing the product/tool to be demonstrated.

               Requirements for Abstract Submission
