PLAYER DEFENDS ACCUSED MURDERER IN NEW LEGAL GAME

SHREVEPORT, LA, December 14, 1994--Softdisk Publishing today announced the
release of Juris Diction, an exciting new, courtroom game that stars the
player as the defending attorney in a Beverly Hills murder trial.

Developed for IBM-PC compatible computers, Juris Diction features five
levels of play, questions written by an experienced trial lawyer, an
animated introductory courtroom sequence, and mood-setting sound
effects--from the judge's voice to a squeaky chair.

"You don't have to be a lawyer or law student to enjoy this game," said
Softdisk Publishing President Al Vekovius. "It's for anyone who is
fascinated by law or enjoys a mental challenge. You have to think fast and
act immediately, which isn't as easy as it sounds. I was hooked after my
first game...and determined to keep my client from being found guilty of
murder."

To protect and acquit his client, the Juris Diction player must quickly and
accurately decide whether to allow the prosecutor's latest question or to
object to it by pressing a key that corresponds to one of 10 grounds for
objection. The 10 objections are: argumentative, violates the Best
Evidence Rule, calls for a conclusion, assumes unestablished facts, calls
for hearsay, irrelevant or immaterial, leading, multiple questions,
violates privilege, speculative, and vague.

The judge may "overrule" the player's objection (no points), "sustain" the
objection (points), or simply decide to "allow it" (partial points). The
point values awarded for correct responses depend on how quickly the
player presses a key from the time the question appears on the screen. The
faster a player reacts, the more points he'll receive.

In order to advance to a new level, the player must score a minimum number
of points and correctly answer all the questions on a short quiz about the
testimony just presented. And to make the five-level game even more
interesting, each level requires the player to score an increasingly
higher number of points. When a player wins--or acquits his client--he
learns the identity of the real murderer. Juris Diction contains thousands
of possible questions, so there are over 1 million possible scenarios.
Every new game is literally different from the last.
