SnapShot VIs Enhance LabVIEW Imaging

Viewpoint Software Solutions recently introduced SnapShot, a low-cost
Windows-based, add-on LabVIEW package for integrating imaging into DAQ
applications such as process monitoring and inspection.

SnapShot bundles a frame-grabber with image acquisition and analysis VIs at
close to the cost of a low-end DAQ board. SnapShot is used in applications
ranging from motion analysis and intensity measurements to quality
control.

SnapShot VIs include all the basic tools required to make intensity,
distance, and area measurements. VIs are also offered for a variety of
grayscale mappings, histograms, and both standard and custom image
filters. Users can even make region-of-interest (ROI) measurements by
performing these operations on a subset of the image array. Finally, usrs
can acquire images from both NTSC and PAL video.

Viewpoint Software Solutions will work with users who need custom imaging
integration into their LabVIEW applications. The company also offers other
LabVIEW add-on products, including capability for up to 64 COM ports
(either RS-232 or RS-422), interfacing to third-party hardware through VIs
that link to DLL drivers, and VIs for reading and writing to memory mapped
devices.
