Apple PowerBook Tops Customer Satisfaction Study by J.D. Power and
Associates

CUPERTINO, California--December 12, 1994--In a recently completed 1994
Notebook Computer End-User Satisfaction Study conducted by J.D. Power and
Associates, Apple Computer, Inc. was ranked highest in customer
satisfaction among notebook computer business users for its PowerBook
notebook computer. Factors contributing to Apple's top ranking included
industrial design and price-value, in addition to its simple computer
set-up and understandable documentation. Apple posted an industry-leading
score in the study, beating out several other major U.S. and international
notebook computer vendors.

"We're extremely pleased with the results of this study," said Brodie
Keast, Apple's vice president of PowerBook Products. "Integrating customer
feedback into our products is a top priority, and a study such as this
suggests that the process is working. It's clear to us that customers
truly value the extra effort we take with the details."

More than 970 office-based business users took part in the study by rating
their notebook computer's performance, service and support. Nearly half of
the respondents were from technical or scientific fields with users from
executive or managerial positions comprising over one-third of the users
studied.
