SOFTDISK PUBLISHING ANNOUNCES SPACE-ADVENTURE GAME RELEASE

SHREVEPORT, LA, December 8, 1994 - Softdisk Publishing today announced the
release of IRONSEED, a vast space-adventure game developed by Channel VII
for IBM-PC computers. A unique mixture of sci-fi, strategy and
role-playing, IRONSEED has been described by Softdisk Publishing President
Al Vekovius as "a galactic-scale puzzle that hooks you and won't let
go--without the kind of ultra-violence we've come to associate with games
of this size and scope."

Visually and audibly seductive, thanks to futuristic, 256-color graphics
and a CD-quality custom soundtrack, IRONSEED is also mentally addictive.
The IRONSEED player is immediately thrust into the role of captain of a
ship that carries the last survivors of the human race to its destiny. The
captain's job is deceptively simple: select a crew; guide the ship; probe
distant worlds and suns; locate and talk with alien life forms; collect
building materials then create weapons, shields and fuel; and find the
dozens of clues needed to reunite The Kendar, an ancient alliance of free
worlds. Only The Kendar, with the player's help of course, will be able to
defeat the alien scavenger armada which threatens the civilized universe.

"Game players who think they can 'solve' IRONSEED in a couple of hours--or
even a day--are welcomed to try," said Vekovius. "You've got to develop an
exploration strategy and stick with it, and you've got to be sharp enough
to recognize and act on clues when you run across them."

IRONSEED players will:

 * Command the ship's six main control panels--Astrogation,
Engineering, Medical, Psychometry, Science, and Security.
 * Probe and explore up to 1,000 planets and 200 suns.
 * Trade for or build needed items, and modify the ship for
   the coming battle.
 * Have interactive keyboard "conversations" with crew
   members and aliens.
 * Enjoy stunning, 256-color VGA graphics and animations.
 * Listen to a powerful, CD-quality, soundtrack of
   all-original music.

A demo of IRONSEED is currently available on America Online (keyword:
softdisk) and Software Creations BBS (1-508-368-7036). The full game,
which comes compressed on three high density 3.5-inch disks, is available
directly from Softdisk Publishing at 1-800-831-2694 or 1-318-221-8718. A
46-page paper manual is included.

Minimum system requirements for IRONSEED are: 386-33 MHz PC compatible with
VGA card and monitor, 530K of RAM, a Microsoft compatible mouse, and
MS-DOS 4.0. Minimum sound requirements are: Sound Blaster, Aria, ProAudio
Spectrum, or Gravis Ultra Sound card or compatible; and 600K of RAM
(conventional memory) plus 1MB of enhanced or expanded memory.

In addition to publishing "stand-alone" programs like IRONSEED, Softdisk
