INTERACTIVE MEDIA CORPORATION AWARDED PATENT FOR GRAPHICAL METHOD FOR
EASILY CREATING INTERACTIVITY.

Technology is Applicable to Multimedia Authoring, On-Line Services and
Interactive Television.

Los Altos, CA--December 12, 1994 -- Interactive Media Corporation (IMC)
today announced that the United States Patent Office has awarded the
company a patent for its graphical system and method for the creation of
interactivity. The patent's claims cover a system and method for
controlling multimedia objects (movies, pictures, sound and text) in a
computer environment, and a graphical means for defining interactive
navigation and control among buttons, media objects and regions of a video
display. The technology, because it uses a simple graphical methodology,
allows mainstream users, graphics artists, designers and subject-matter
experts to easily create interactivity, without the need for complex
scripting or programming languages, timelines or flowcharts.

Roger Badertscher, co-inventor and president of IMC said, "We have invented
a simple yet powerful method for creating and modifying interactive
relationships. This invention addresses the growing importance of
interactive technologies in a wide variety of fields. Its applicability
spans today's uses in the creation of interactive multimedia and
tomorrow's development of communications materials for the information
superhighway. IMC's technology can expedite the development of interactive
products and services by mainstream users."

IMC is currently using its patented technology in its multimedia authoring
tool, Special Delivery 2.0. IMC plans to extend its current
Macintosh-based product offering to support other platforms as well as
broaden its utility through the use of component software technology.
Future developments of IMC's invention will allow the technology to be
readily integrated into a variety of applications. IMC plans on utilizing
the technology in future software products and intends to license the
technology and form cooperative ventures for other applications.

The patent, number 5,363,482, is available by number from the U.S. Patent &
Trademark Office, Washington, D.C. 20231
