GPIB-ENET Now Available for Windows Users

The GPIB-ENET Ethernet-to-GPIB interface kit from National Instruments is
now available for Windows 3.1 systems. You can use the GPIB-ENET/Win kit
to connect Windows-based computers to IEEE 488 (GPIB) instruments through
TCP/IP Ethernet networks. Using the GPIB-ENET, you can share GPIB
peripherals between many networked users or control several GPIB systems
from a single networked computer. The GPIB-ENET is also a convenient
instrument control interface for computers with no available plug-in
slots. The compact GPIB-ENET includes high-level NI-488.2 software for
Windows, so you can easily run existing NI-488.2 applications in a
networked environment. NI-488.2 driver software for GPIB-ENET is also
available for the Hewlett-packard Series 700 workstation, Sun
SPARCstation, and Apple Macintosh. Thus, you can control the same
GPIB-ENET hardware over a TCP/IP network from several types of computers.
NI-488.2 software-only packages are available for existing GPIB-ENET
users. You can also use the GPIB libraries built in to the LabWindows/CVI
for Windows and LabVIEW for Windows application software packages to write
GPIB-ENET application programs.
