Galacticomm, Inc. Launches Network and Integrated Services division

Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- Dec. 7 -- Organizations creating online systems can
enjoy chauffeur service on the Information Highway with the debut of
Galacticomm, Inc.'s Network and Integrated Services (NIS) division. NIS
will plan and implement interactive solutions to get organizations up and
running fast with their own custom-tailored online service.

Galacticomm is the developer of The Major BBS, the world's leading online
software. "Once the province of computer hobbyists, bulletin board
technology is now harnessed by corporations, government agencies, and
educational institutions as a guerrilla weapon for information exchange,"
Galacticomm President and CEO Scott Brinker said. "We created this new
division to give these customers everything they need for a professional
online service -- from software and hardware components to business and
marketing strategies."

NIS will stay on top of all the latest technologies to help clients gain
the competitive edge in the marketplace. Currently, the Internet is the
"killer app," according to Brinker. NIS will help organizations create
their own interactive services on the Internet and offer Internet access
to employees, customers, and others. World-Wide Web (WWW) is the hot new
way for organizations to promote themselves or disseminate information
over the Internet. NIS can design attractive WWW sites with
hypertext-linked multimedia pages that users navigate with Mosaic and
other browsers.

Other services NIS can integrate for clients include e-mail and wide-area
workgroup applications, customer service systems, secure online ordering,
electronic commerce programs (EDI), document and information
dissemination, databases, and more. NIS will consult with clients to get a
clear picture of the system they are envisioning, and create a blueprint
for making it happen. With out-of-the-box software from Galacticomm and
Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs) -- combined with custom programming if
necessary -- NIS can offer complete online solutions. They can also
fine-tune existing systems.

For organizations that have in-house systems analysts, the division offers
training in all aspects of configuring and managing an online system.
Training courses for end-users are also available. In addition, yearly
support contracts offer advanced technical support to assist in-house
staff in configuring their systems, establishing network connections,
creating new services, and other special projects.

Ken Royer has joined Galacticomm as the director of the new division. Most
recently, he was with the U.S. Department of Commerce where he was the
systems manager for the prestigious government system, FedWorld
Information Network. The system, which runs The Major BBS, has been
unofficially deemed the future of government information dissemination,
and has been recognized as an example of the National Information
Infrastructure. "NIS will bring clients the knowledge of online technology
that we've gained as the world's leading online software developer, as
well as a fresh perspective in creating online solutions," Royer says. "By
outsourcing system integration, organizations will save time and money.
They'll eliminate the cost of hiring a high-level developer, and we'll
ensure that they select the most cost-effective and appropriate products
to create a successful online service."

Galacticomm is a privately held Fort Lauderdale corporation. The company's
flagship product, The Major BBS, is full-featured, multi-user software
that organizations use to create their own online interactive service or
corporate workgroup interface. It features e-mail, teleconference, file
transfer, public messaging, a polling facility, and more. The Major BBS
can support well over 200 simultaneous users on a single PC connecting via
modems, LAN, serial links, or (optionally) X.25 and the Internet.
Galacticomm has been the leading developer of multi-user communications
hardware and BBS software since 1985. Galacticomm can be reached at (800)
328-1128 or (305) 583-5990, outside the U.S. and Canada.
