IBM Offers Sports Fans a Preview of the OS/2 Fiesta Bowl via the
Information Highway

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 23, 1994 . . . IBM today launched an OS/2 Fiesta Bowl
Home Page on the Internet and announced a two-hour CompuServe "chat
session" to allow sports fans to communicate directly with coaches and
stars of the Notre Dame and Colorado football teams.

OS/2 Warp users can connect directly to these forums using the easy access
software that comes with OS/2 Warp's BonusPak of applications.

The OS/2 Fiesta Bowl Home Page offers a detailed schedule of the events
surrounding the Jan. 2 contest between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and
the Colorado Buffaloes. A Home Page is an area of the Internet set up by
an individual or organization with information about themselves. From the
Fiesta Bowl Home Page, IBM has placed pointers to the Notre Dame,
Colorado, Arizona State University and City of Tempe, Arizona, home pages,
allowing users to jump easily to information about each.

The OS/2 Fiesta Bowl Home Page can be accessed via normal Internet channels
or through on-line services offering a Web browser or explorer. The
address on the Internet is http://www.austin.ibm.com/pspinfo/fiesta.html.

Fiesta Bowl fans also can send good luck messages to their favorite team
via the newsgroup area of the Internet. IBM will make the messages
available to players and coaches of both teams, and keep a tally of
messages for each team. The mail addresses for the newsgroups are:
alt.fiesta-bowl.buf (for Colorado) and alt.fiesta-bowl.irish (for Notre
Dame.) The path to these newsgroups is awdprime.austin.ibm.com!news.

On Thursday, Dec. 29, fans can join in a two-hour, real-time forum on
CompuServe where they can ask questions on the game build-up and strategy
directly of the coaches, quarterbacks and players, including Heisman
Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam, the Colorado runningback. Fans can ask
questions and receive replies in "conversation" fashion during the
session, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST. Fans can gain access to this forum
by typing Go OS2Fiesta.

OS/2 Warp is the third generation of IBM's award-winning 32-bit operating
system. It features impressive new usability features, slimmed-down
memory requirements and comes with a BonusPak of more than a dozen
exploitive OS/2 applications, including easy access to Internet and
CompuServe via the Information Superhighway.
