NOCTROPOLIS: SOPHISTICATED ADVENTURE FOR A MATURE AUDIENCE

SAN MATEO, Calif., December 14, 1994 -- Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS)
unveils a product designed to appeal to a growing segment of the CD ROM
market that demands more sophisticated themes from its entertainment
products. Flashpoint Productions and Electronic Arts enter this emerging
market with Noctropolis, a darkly flavored and involved graphic adventure
dealing with such mature issues as adult relationships, the
bitter-sweetness of dreams fulfilled, and the dark side of human nature.

Twenty-six hours of video footage has been condensed to over two hours of
digitized speech -- 100% spoken audio by every character -- and video
footage with professional actors delivering arresting dialog. Former
Playboy Playmate Hope Marie Carlton plays Darksheer's beautiful partner
Stiletto, lending her many talents to this complex, adult tale.

Set in a dark, surreal alternate reality, the urban environment of
Noctropolis is revealed as the incarnation of a comic book city. The
player, existing in the real world, idolizes the famed comic superhero
team of Darksheer and Stiletto. The player is devastated to discover that
the comic publisher is discontinuing the Darksheer line, but his
depression quickly vanishes when he receives a mysterious "limited
edition" continuation of the series in the mail. Overcoming the impossible
barrier between the fiction of Noctropolis and the player's reality, the
limited edition comic grants the player the means to translate himself to
the city of Noctropolis and assume the identity of the vigilante-hero,
Darksheer.

After winning the support of Darksheer's counterpart, Stiletto, the player
must crush the sinister advances of Darksheer's archenemies. He quickly
learns that their evil plots revolve around him and he must engage them on
the terms of an unknown diabolical mastermind, named Flux. Realized as
Darksheer's potential nemesis, the enigmatic Flux orchestrates a series of
convoluted plans to achieve his secret agenda -- an agenda that holds the
death of Darksheer at its center.

With Noctropolis, players enter a visual feast featuring over 50
hand-painted, full-screen backgrounds with a convenient floating interface
allowing the player to concentrate on the intricacies of the game itself
-- not the game controls. The rich story line and diverse characters
unfold gradually, offering player satisfaction at several levels.

Noctropolis was created by the talented team at Flashpoint Productions
headed by Brent Erickson and Shaun Mitchell with over 40 titles to their
credit including Martian Memorandum, Mean Streets, Countdown, and Amazon
Gardens of Eden. Roland Kippenhan and Jeff Lee are producing the title for
Electronic Arts.

Award-winning composer Ron Saltmarsh creates a new standard for General
MIDI soundtracks with his haunting, cinematic score that meshes with the
story to set the mood as the player maneuvers throughout the vast city.
Saltmarsh heads Flashpoint's Symphonix division which has produced scores
to accompany nationally broadcast shows from network news to Entertainment
Tonight.

Noctropolis has been rated M by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. An
M rating indicates that the product's content may contain mature subject
matter and is appropriate for ages 17 and older.
