Digital and Lotus Team To Deliver cc:mail For Mailworks

BOSTON, Mass. -- November 29, 1994 -- Digital Equipment Corporation and
Lotus Development Corporation today announced Lotus cc:Mail for Windows
clients will be able to use Digital's MailWorks server software as their
post office and directory server, extending the performance and
reliability of the mail environment. cc:Mail is the world's most popular
LAN-based e-mail product; MailWorks is the leading client/server mail
system with more than 1 million seats connected. The new capability was
demonstrated today in Digital's booth at the EMAIL WORLD exposition held
here.

Digital's cc:Mail Connection for MailWorks software provides the ability
for cc:Mail users to work in a client/server messaging environment without
requiring a change to the user interface. Lotus cc:Mail for Windows
Version 2.0 users can connect to the MailWorks server using TCP/IP,
DECnet, asynchronous and wireless communications protocols. MailWorks
servers are available for the OpenVMS and DEC OSF/1 operating systems.

According to Nancy Strecker, vice president, Digital Software Products,
"Digital is delighted to offer connectivity with Lotus cc:Mail as part of
our MailWorks solution. Teaming with Lotus enables Digital to deliver a
rich set of enterprise mail services to the cc:Mail user."

The cc:Mail Connection for MailWorks software will be available from
Digital in the first quarter of 1995.

A PC installation kit is priced at $29 for unlimited use within an
organization. Lotus cc:Mail for Windows is available now; the estimated
retail price is $56 per user in quantities of 10 or greater. All prices
and terms are for the U.S. only.
