Demonstrates Commitment to Integrated Voice and Data Applications

Las Vegas, Nev., November 14, 1994 -- ZyXEL, announced today that it has
completed the implementation of the VoiceView protocol across its complete
line of modems, including its new line of V.34 modems. VoiceView,
developed by Radish Communications Systems, Inc., is an open protocol
designed to enhance the exchange of both voice and data during a single
telephone call.

As the first modem company to implement VoiceView on their entire product
line, ZyXEL is demonstrating its commitment to providing users with
leading telephony technology. "We believe that the combination of our own
advanced modem technology with VoiceView will spawn a new generation of
integrated voice and data applications. Additionally, we adopted VoiceView
because it is gaining broad industry acceptance as a standard that defines

VoiceView brings together the convenience of the familiar phone call and
the versatility of the PC, adding file and fax exchange, visual tasks,
games and other communicating applications to an ordinary conversation. In
addition to enhancing everyday phone calls between individuals, VoiceView
can extend voice response and live agent serves as well. An open industry
standard, VoiceView protocols and software are widely licensed from Radish
by third parties. In particular, VoiceView is "spoke" by the upcoming
generation of modems from ZyXEL and other manufacturers representing over
85 percent of the worldwide shipments. Microsoft has also announced that
Windows 95 will be VoiceView-capable.
