UNIX/WINDOWS NT INTEROPERABILITY GATEWAY PLANNED FOR UNIX EXPO IN 1995

Computer Industry's Leading Event for UNIX and Open Systems Computing
Unveils Special Technology Showcase, Sept. 19-21, 1995 at Javits Center in
New York City

(Fort Lee, NJ, November 8) -- With the increasing use of UNIX and Open
Systems -- and the introduction of Windows NT -- UNIX EXPO announces a
special UNIX/Windows NT Interoperability Gateway showcase for the 1995
show. The Twelfth Annual UNIX EXPO will take place September 19-21, 1995
at the Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Don Berey, show director for UNIX EXPO, said the showcase will help
exhibitors and attendees understand how to integrate new technologies into
an open computing environment, consistent with the new theme for the 1995
show, "Enterprising Solutions for the Open Systems Age."

An independent survey of attendees at this year's show revealed that almost
half of the respondents said UNIX EXPO should be a forum for learning more
about the integration of Windows NT and other technologies with UNIX. More
than 60 percent of the attendees surveyed who have servers installed as
part of their corporate systems, indicated that their use of Windows NT
will be increasing.

"UNIX and Open Systems provide the standard for mission-critical
applications; they are the foundation for building an information
infrastructure," said Mr. Berey. "The UNIX/Windows NT Interoperability
Gateway at UNIX EXPO will provide attendees with the knowledge to map out
the evolution of their enterprise-wide information systems, and plan the
development of open computing environments."

This year, UNIX EXPO recorded its largest and most successful show ever;
the event featured 416 exhibitors of UNIX and Open Systems computing
hardware, software and services. The final attendance for UNIX EXPO this
year was 34,048.

Major new product announcements from companies such as IBM Corporation,
Motorola Computer Group, Bull, Tandem, and scores of other companies --
together with the introduction of the Internet Village on the show floor
-- contributed to the increased attendance and the level of excitement at
this year's show.
