IMAGE-X Helps Enforce Law and Order
Always on the move for a paperless environment

IMAGE-X International, a leader in document imaging technology, is proud to
announce a major breakthrough in the use of handheld computers PEN
Technology. IMAGE-X is presently working with a number of local Sheriff
and Police Departments on a project that will unite traditional handheld
computing with handwriting recognition. This project has been commissioned
"PaperLess Ticket."

Presently law enforcement officials issue hand written citations in the
field. At the end of their shifts they give the citations to a clerk, who
manually enters all the information into the main computer database. This
process is slow and with the "human" factor included, causes other
problems. Some of those problems include information on the original
citation being entered incorrectly or accidentially erased. Sometimes the
information gets lost in the paper shuffle and the traffic offender never
hears again from the long arm of the law.

Traditional handheld computers have not responded to the needs of todays
law enforcement officials, nor have they kept in stride with laptop and
handwriting technology. To rescue law enforcement agencies, IMAGE-X has
developed the "PaperLess Ticket." The "PaperLess Ticket" allows law
enforcement officiers to use a laptop or palmtop computer to issue
citations, obtain signatures using an electronic pen and at the end of
their shift, down load these citations on to the main computer system
using docking station on the network.

The technology used to produce the PaperLess Ticket will increase the
collection rate on citations by getting them to offenders quickly and
preventing them from getting lost in the paper shuffle. The cost of
processing will also be reduced by removing one of the human elements
required in the process.

IMAGE-X is approaching various law enforcement agencies with this
state-of-the-art technology that allows them to keep at the leading edge
of the technology revolution.
