SONIC ANNOUNCES MICROPRINT, A LOCALTALK TO ETHERNET HARDWARE BRIDGE.

Sunnyvale, CA -- Sonic Systems announced the microPrint series of pocket
sized LocalTalk to EtherTalk bridges which allow LocalTalk devices to
communicate with EtherTalk devices and vice versa. For example,
microPrint will allow Ethernet users to print to LocalTalk printers such
as Apple's LaserWriter, Hewlett Packard's LaserJet 4MP and DeskWriter
550C; Macs on Ethernet can access other shared LocalTalk devices, such as
networked modems and file servers; LocalTalk based Macs can access
Ethernet based file sharing and printing services. This has the effect
of extending the useful life of LocalTalk devices in the now standard
Ethernet network environment.

Two versions are available: microPrint, with a suggested retail price of
$299 supports two LocalTalk devices, and microPrint, with a suggested
retail price of $399 supports twelve LocalTalk devices.

The microPrint has several key advantages over all other LocalTalk to
EtherTalk bridges: microPrint has both Thin Coax and Twisted Pair
connections, making it adaptable to most types of Ethernet networks;
microPrint is upgradeable to allow support for more devices; microPrint is
the smallest and lightest LocalTalk to EtherTalk bridge; and since
microPrint supports a greater number of devices than other LocalTalk to
Ethernet bridges, cost per LocalTalk device is lower. In addition, Power,
Link, and Bridging LEDs are active to show connection status and help
diagnose problems.

Both microPrint models come with a lifetime warranty and unlimited
technical support. All Sonic Systems products are available to end-users
from Authorized Apple Dealers, MacWarehouse, MacConnection, Mac's Place,
MacZone, LLB, and MacMall. Resellers can purchase Sonic Systems' products
from Ingram Micro, Tech Data and Merisel.
