San Rafael, CA -- November 14, 1994 -- StereoGraphics Corporation, the
world's leading 3D enabler tn the imaging market with stereo
three-dimensional electronic display equipment, together with Smart Golf,
Poway, CA, will introduce Smart Links, the first virtual reality
monitor-based golf simulator.

Smart Links, the VR relative of the best-selling Smart Golf large screen
simulator, is a technology and cost breakthrough in golf simulation
systems. It is the first to be available as a transportable unit, with
initial models priced at an estimated $6,800, with production models
expected to be even lower. (Smart Golf s large screen golf simulator
starts at $38,000.)

"Its low price and compact size puts Smart Links within the reach of pro
shops, training facilities, arcades, sports bars and even home
enthusiasts, making it the smallest full game simulator in the world,"
said Carl Bair, president and CEO of Smart Golf. "With CrystalEyes eyewear
and the incredibly sharp 3D graphics displayed on the monitor, a golfer
can play more than a dozen of the world's most famous and challenging
championship courses without leaving the room."

Smart Links consists of a computer (including software) with a proprietary
19-inch 3D monitor display produced by StereoGraphics for Smart Golf. The
monitor display enables both small, assembled groups and walk-by audiences
wearing StereoGraphics' CrystalEyes inexpensive passive polarizing eyewear
to see full-color images in stereo.

Wil Cochran, StereoGraphics' vice president of sales and marketing, said,
"Until now, the general public has had to be content with unrealistic
two-dimensional computer golf. Smart Links is just one of the many
products that fulfills StereoGraphics' mission of bringing affordable
CrystalEyes virtual reality technology into the hands of the everyday
user."

The CrystalEyes-clad Smart Links golfer swings a light-wand club which is
tracked by a laser beam. Players drive, chip or putt from simulated
fairways. The simulated balls bounce off trees, splash in water, bury in
sand, roll with the actual course contour, and respond to terrain and
environmental conditions just like outdoors. Course factors, such as wind,
greens hardness, and various sounds, can be selected to add to the
realism.

Smart Links allows one or more players to play 9 holes, 18 holes or any
combination, or just use the system to practice driving and putting.
On-screen prompts display playing status -- the player up, course and hole
number, par, distance to the pin, lie of the ball, wind direction and
velocity, distance of the shot in the air, total shot distance and next
up. Playing proceeds as it would outdoors, except that a player can call
up a bird's eye view of the entire hole, showing the necessary distances
and location of hazards. A profile of the hole can also be shown, or a
grid added to better define the contours of the green or fairway. When the
ball is struck, the proprietary software simulates on-screen accurate ball
flight trajectory, and the player sees where the ball ends up. Reverse
view replays are available. Statistical information tracks each player --
ball travel, distance from the hole, etc.; as play is in accordance with
international rules, the computer even adds required penalty strokes for
balls out of bounds. The realism includes balls hitting trees, bouncing on
greens and splashing in the water. The virtual reality aspect is so 'real'
that Smart Links can be used to train the serious golfer. It is also
intended for the sport golfer or anyone who wants to practice on famous
golf courses while indoors or to learn without the investments of
equipment and travel.

StereoGraphics' patented CrystalEyes depth perception products utilize true
3D stereo to improve and dramatize viewing for a broad and diverse user
universe. CrystalEyes products provide high-resolution, realistic and
flicker-free stereo viewing for scientific visualization, animation,
medical imaging. surgical endoscopy, molecular modeling, computer games,
photogrammetry, location-based entertainment, motion simulation,
inspection systems, remote vehicle control, flight simulation, corporate
presentations and all types of education and training.

CrystalEyes 3D technology has been used by scientists to explore undersea
and outer space environments, by the medical profession to create group
surgery lessons, by universities to enable students to have hands-on
experience with complex atoms, and by defense organizations for realistic
air and land simulations.

Smart Golf sold its first full-size golf simulators in December, 1992, and
has since installed approximately 175 units throughout the world,
including Japan, Taiwan, Korea, United Kingdom, Germany, and China. Smart
Golf is located at 12875 Brookprinter Place, Poway, CA 92064, telephone

StereoGraphics Corp., founded in 1980, invented and developed the market
for modern stereo imaging hardware. Due to its capability, reasonable
price and state-of-the-art technology backed by 14 patents, CrystalEyes
systems are accepted as the industry standard for stereo viewing.
